During the initial part of our three-week stay in Japan, we chose this hotel for our accommodation. Our experience began with an inability to check in early, prompting us to leave our luggage and explore the area until the notably late 4 pm check-in time. Our six-night stay, beginning on a Wednesday, came with the surprising information at check-in that room cleaning would be performed only once, on the following Saturday. This detail, which I don’t recall being mentioned on Expedia, was quite disappointing.
The hotel's policy required vacating the room from 10 am to 3 pm on the cleaning day, which was inconvenient. From day one, we noticed a damp, musty smell from the air conditioning, which we later realized was circulating cigarette smoke from other rooms into ours. This issue likely contributed to us falling ill just two days into our stay.
The breakfast, served buffet-style with a variety of Japanese dishes, was initially enjoyable. However, our illness soon diminished our appetite, leading us to take food back to our room in takeout boxes from the breakfast area.
Despite declining the cleaning service on Saturday to rest in our room, we appreciated the daily provision of fresh towels, left outside our room in a white bag. The hotel staff, across various departments like kitchen, cleaning, and reception, were genuinely kind and helpful.
