The photos made the property look better than it was. The space wasnât as clean as Iâd expect and it was not very well appointed. There were no hand towels, the microwave didnât work, there was no ice or way to make ice. It just wasnât what I expected.
I have NEVER left a negative review, but I felt it was important to share our experience to help others avoid the same mistake. The photos of the property were very misleading. It looked clean and well-kept in the listing, but what we walked into was the complete opposite. From the moment we arrived, the place had a very strong and unpleasant smell, a mix of curry and weed, that seemed to be coming from the vents or somewhere in the building. It was overwhelming. The unit itself looked like it hadnât been properly cleaned in a while. We had to go out and purchase candles and Febreze just to try and make it livable for the night. After one night, we knew we couldnât stay any longer and ended up booking a hotel for the remainder of our trip. We contacted the property manager about our concerns, but were told the stay was non-refundable, which only added to the frustration.I would not recommend this listing to anyone. This review is not written out of spite, but rather to provide a fair warning. The place was not what was promised, and our experience was disappointing and uncomfortable.
Ronnie was incredibly responsive and accommodating for any issues. The apartment is exactly whatâs shown and was very well maintained. My group and I did have an issue with our parking pass, but Ronnie was willing to reimburse us for the parking which we need up making an arrangement
The location is convenient and right at the center of downtown Hartford, walking distance to art museum, science museum and other major attractions. Check-in was easy. The building was a little bit sketchy (smells marijuana in the elevator ) and with many air b&b units from other private owners. The unit itself was very clean and newly renovated, on a quiet floor (thank goodness), with great window view of the city skyline. It has most of the things we needed for the stay. The only thing I hope it could have is a microwave (maybe we are too depended on microwaveable food :P). The parking pass is shared with other units and is on a first come first serve bases. Maybe we went on a busy weekend, it seemed impossible to get the pass for both the days we stayed. Fortunately, it was not hard to find parking in front of the building or in the nearby streets during the weekend (the meters are free at night and weekend). I think even if I had the pass, I may still choose the street parking since itâs closer. Overall, it was nice stay. The host communicated very well and was on top of everything. Big thumbs up!
