Relaxing Getaway
We had a lovely 3-night stay. The cottage was cozy and clean. The bed was very comfortable - soft, but not too soft. Pillows were great. Enjoyed a bonfire and smores at night; coffee and turtle watching from the boathouse dock at sunrise. We had a perfect view of the eclipse from the dock. Luckily, the rain clouds held off until after totality. Internet connection was strong and supported multiple devices. We were also able to smoothly stream movies in the evening, even with a thunderstorm raging. Owner was very flexible, and communication was unobtrusive and informative. Would definitely stay again if we ever get back down this way. Can't say enough good things about our stay. Very beautiful and peaceful.

Just right
it is the perfect getaway for my wife and I. We did all the things we like to do. Read, go on walks-around the lake, fish out on the dock, and centrally located to Mineola and Gladewater-places we like to antique. Not to mention a 10 minute walk to the best Italian restaurant we've ever eaten at- Taste of Italy. Will definitely be back!

This is a great location on the lake. We really enjoyed using the kayaks and fising from the dock. The lake area is incredibly quiet. Communicating with the owners was a breeze. We are coming back as soon as our schedules allow.

Quick trip to Hawkins
Our stay was shorter than expected but still great. Clear instructions, great owner communication, property as advertised with lots of extras for activities. We got in a little late and did not want to leave to get food, and there was a great family owned Italian restaurant in the community. Seating on the water, great food and byob. Looking forward to going back when i can spend a little more time and really enjoy the dock.

A FAVORITE OF OURS!!
This cabin is a favorite as the owners take great care to make your stay wonderful. It is very clean and has all the amenities you need to be comfortable. Rain or shine it is relaxing and peaceful. Great for couples, families, or girls weekend. The dock and fire pit area are perfect for small gatherings. Very nice to have items to use on the lake without added fees! Owners are also fantastic at giving you area information if you’d like to explore. Wonderful communication. This is a go to cabin so definitely will stay again!

Great Little Lakeside Getaway!
Perfect little cabin for my husband and myself! We enjoyed sitting on the porch and dock. Wood was stacked and ready for a fire in both the fire pit and the wood stove inside the dock house. Owner made sure to have the personal touches of home including blankets draped and pillows on the outside furniture for the cool evenings. Highly recommend! Great communication with the owner.

Very happy with this property and ease of checkin with the owner! The home and even the boathouse were spotless! Just cross street and you are on the perfect dock for fishing. Porch was good size, home was perfect for the two of us. The decor was fun with lots of cool antiques and quaint memorabilia! Highly recommend!

Great place to get away to
If you're wanting to get away from it all, this is the place. The property is well kept, the cabin itself is clean and expertly decorated inside with the fishing and woodsey wildlife theme. It is spacious enough for a couple or a small family. The outdoors are interesting with lots of tree species, birds, and squirrels .... and a few geckos running around. The cabin sits about 50 yds. from the lakefront. A short walk across the community road and you're at the dock/boathouse. The cabin faces mostly east and the sunrise across the lake is outstanding. There's a firepit for you nearby, chairs and a gilder swing on the dock. We didn't make use of the kayaks, canoe, or bikes ... but they all look to be in great shape. If you're coming to fish, there's not much action off the dock, so you might want to rent a boat or bring your own to get out into the deeper open water. The water is clear and there's lots of underwater vegetation around the docks and shorelines.....and there's also a lot of water turtles to compete with if you're trying fish with bait. A quick Google search of Lake Hawkins will tell you most details regarding the lake itself. Overall, we had good relaxing few days away from home and would reccomend this property to you, if you too just need to get away and decompress for a little while.
