1920's Farmhouse near Dupont State Recreational Forest
Shoal Creek Cottage is a circa 1920 farmhouse newly remodeled with modern amenities and vintage flair. Bikers, hikers, and horseback riders will certainly enjoy the easy access to Dupont Forest as one access trail is located within short walk or bike ride from the cottage. The cottage is nestled in a small valley on a 30-acre working horse farm along Shoal Creek. For rest and relaxation, the cottage has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other with two twin size beds. We also have other cozy features such as porch swing, a wood burning fireplace, clawfoot tub, and an outdoor firepit. If you own your own horse and would like to bring your horse with you to enjoy our farm and trails in DuPont state forest you can stall board or pasture board your horse at Shoal Creek Farm next to the cottage.
This place was the perfect spot to get time on some trails in Dupont and Pisgah. It was located close to Brevard & Hendersonville. Watching the horses in the morning was a treat. We will be back :)
We had a great stay! The accommodations were perfect, comfortable, quiet, clean and close to everything we wanted to do in DuPont Forest. We boarded our horses at their stables and they were comfortable and safe too! We will come back and highly recommend. Olivia and Ryan are so kind and we appreciate their hospitality
Loved the old farm house feel - reminded us of Grandparentsâ houses! We enjoyed watching the horses across the street. And it was so close to DuPont Forest! We had a few rain showers come through which were relaxing to watch from the covered porch.
We were very happy with this house! It was clean and in a great location if youâre wanting to stay around brevard or Hendersonville. The owners were very nice and professional.
Shoal Creek Cottage is like stepping back in time, but with modern conveniences. The cottage is comfortable, light and airy and beautifully decorated. We loved watching the horses from the front porch. Very convenient to DuPont and Holmes State Park and a scenic drive to town. Thank you for a lovely stay.
We absolutely loved the house and it's furnishings. It was very comfortable and had the best views from every window. The grounds were exceptional and who doesn't love being surrounded by horses. You can hear the river off in the distance and really wish we had time to explore.Ryan and Olivia were wonderful and accommodating hosts. Would like to have met them in person but we were too crunched for time.Thank you Ryan and Olivia.. I hope to see you on my next trip to NC.
Great place to stay.....the area is so peaceful. And, yet not far at all from downtown Hendersonville. Olivia gave a great recommendation for trail ride....meeting place was 5 minutes from the house.
Quiet setting and such a pretty cottage! I enjoyed watching all the horses across the street. The bed was super comfortable and hosts did such a great job using unique touches with this place. I will definitely return in the future!
We absolutely loved our Farmhouse stay! The house was perfect with everything we needed and more! Olivia and Ryan were so accommodating and nice. The setting is spectacular with great access to DuPont Forest. We will definitely be back!!
This our second time staying in this comfortable cabin. Itâs just over a mile to the Guion Parking lot of DuPont State Forest, so itâs ideal if youâre planning a visit. Cabin was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped for all our meals. If you want to bring your horses, contact the host and make arrangements for stall or pasture rental as well. Olivia was very responsive, informative, and available if we had any questions. We also love all the little dogs that came to visit! We will definitely return.
The house was very accommodating. The views of the open sky and horses were beautiful. The beds are comfortable. It is conveniently located to Ride Kanuga.
My daughter and I race downhill mountain bikes, and wherever we race we like to be as far from the event as possible. This location was perfect, far enough away to not be bothered by the chaos yet close enough to make the drive enjoyable. The drive to Hendersonville is only about 20 minutes. The best thing about this location, other than the lack of traffic and the location, is the working farm. The children enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the horses and playing with the farm dogs. The owners are awesome as well. We are definitely going to stay here again next year.
This is a beautiful rustic cottage in an amazing setting. Pictures on the listing do not do this location justice. Olivia and Ryan were great to deal with and we are already planning a return trip.
Our little family came to Hendersonville as a convenient spot from which to see family and friends in Gastonia, Shelby, Hendersonville, and Asheville during the holidays. My kiddos loved walking across the street to see the horses, and we had a delightful afternoon in downtown Hendersonville. It was rainy during our stay, so we didnât take advantage of the cute fire pit and the proximity to beautiful hiking trails and waterfalls that my family rave about. We hope to return in the summer or fall to do so! I adored cooking on the cute yet spacious stove and cleaning up dishes in front of the large kitchen window.
