Luxury log home on main lake - pizza oven, fire pit, kayaks, SUP, pontoon

"The Lodge at Lake Gaston" is a beautiful log cabin style home with a million dollar view. 4 bedroom plus loft home, located on waterfront of main Lake Gaston near entrance to Pea Hill Creek. Lake Gaston is located right on the NC/VA state line and was recently declared the #1 lake getaway across the United States by BuzzFeed and its readers.

Large double boat house with spiral staircase leading to a sun deck (used to be a helipad!). Boat house is ready for fun with plenty of deck chairs, storage room (with bar window), sound system and water slide! Large waterfront area (bulkhead) with deep water (5-6 feet). The gently sloping yard has a large stone fire pit & pizza oven. We also have a Saber infrared gas grill and smoker (both attached to central house propane). Generac whole house generator provides peace of mind in case of power outages.

This home has an open floor plan; kitchen, living & dining room combination, fireplace & 2 master suites , plus half bath and laundry room on the main level. French doors from living room, & bedrooms open to large covered porch with gorgeous view of Lake Gaston & boat house. Open Loft area upstairs overlooks living area & has view of the lake, additional bedroom upstairs.

Head downstairs to enjoy the recreation area with full bar, granite countertops, old-fashioned arcade games, digital piano, Tornado foosball, ping pong and TV/surround sound set-up. Oversized bedroom with two sets of bunk beds (both twin over full) is perfect for lots of kids or a whole family.

Summary of bedroom configuration:

First/main floor: bedroom 1 (king) with en suite bathroom; bedroom 2 (queen) with en suite bathroom

Second/loft floor: bedroom 3 (queen), there is also a pull out sofa bed in the open loft area on this floor; note that there is a newly added full bathroom on this level

Basement: bedroom 4 (2 sets of twin over full bunkbeds) with full bathroom

My brother-in-law's pontoon boat is docked at our house and available to rent from him (rate is approximately $1000 per week, daily rates vary). If you are interested in the pontoon, I can put you directly in touch with him. There are also several marinas in the area that rent other types of boats and water skis.

We have a paddle boat and kayaks (1 tandem adult kayak and 2 youth/small adult kayaks) and a SUP (stand up paddleboard) that are available for renters to use (no additional charge).

The house is convenient to all boating and shopping needs. On the main lake, but also close to the more quiet coves of Pea Hill Creek. 5 minutes from Food Lion grocery store, Dollar General and Ace Hardware.

PLEASE NOTE: For security purposes we have a single "Ring" camera pointed at the driveway/front entrance to the house.

This is a wonderful home in a great spot!! We came with 3 families and had plenty of space for everyone. The house had everything we needed (and we can be high maintenance - especially in the kitchen). The host was very responsive with questions and requests. There were no problems. We brought our 23 ft boat, and our friends brought their 18 ft boat as well. There was plenty of secure space for both of them without taking away from the enjoyable float space. They were very protected and didn't get jostled around by the wake of other boats at all. I would highly recommend this amazing home. It is # 1 out of probably 10 we have stayed at on LKG.

Loved Lodge at the Lake!

Thank you!We had a wonderful stay at "The Lodge at the Lake" Everything was so nice! We loved the cleanliness, the design, the well-stocked kitchen.. all three levels. Bedrooms attractive, beds and linens comfy! The amenities were fantastic inside and out... your attention to detail and condition are to be noted! The outdoor spaces are exemplary and well maintained. The boathouse is amazing with all kinds of great seating upstairs and down.. loved the equipment for so many water sports

Family Vacation

We had a great week! This home was a perfect set up for our family vacation. The porch, dock, yard, fire pit and pizza oven were perfect for an enjoyable week. Family Vacation 2024

This house was so amazing, and we enjoyed every aspect of it! We had a gorgeous week, a few rain storms, but it didn’t put a damper on our week at all. We loved the pizza ovens, and it was so much fun making and creating our very own pizza’s. The boat was an added bonus, we fished, and took some sunset cruises, it was amazing. The guys took a half day charter catfish boat out, and the charter picked them up right at the dock. Only one very large catfish was caught, so we made a great fried catfish lunch from it, and it was so delicious. Thanks for a great week, it was totally amazing. Will definitely be returning❀

Great week with family

We had an amazing time enjoying the beautiful property. Coffee on the porch or the dock was an absolute delight every morning. The kitchen had everything we needed for nights in, and we were close enough to the grocery store and restaurants to have easy access to whatever we needed. The game room was fun for all - kids and adults! The bedrooms were very comfortable and spacious for all. Our favorite part of the whole property was the beautiful dock. We definitely hope to be back soon!

Great stay

Great communication with owner and great amenities and extras made this place a wonderful vacation spot. Everything is well labeled, directions on everything was clear, and the house was clean and perfectly laid out. We loved relaxing at the boathouse and using the canoe and paddle board. The hammock chairs were amazing and we had plenty of chairs and space for everyone. The grill was great and we spent each night hanging out on the back deck. We’ll definitely be back!

The Lodge was exactly as advertised. It was very well stocked and very well organized. The labeling and information was excellent. The interior was so comfortable and accommodations were excellent. The log beds on the main floor were a true work of art. The privacy of the accommodations from one floor to the next was incredible. We would rent this property again, for family and friends of all ages, without any hesitation.

Girlfriends get away

Great house for us! Kitchen is well stocked, very nice bed linens and pillows, beds are very comfortable, great seating both inside and outside. We enjoyed watching the stunning sunrises from the porch, and relaxing on the boat dock. Had a fun fire pit evening, and were able to take out the double person kayak for a short jaunt around the lake. So many fun things to do both inside and outside the house. Something that I did not see in the description of the house or the pictures was the dinning table which was a very nice table with seating for at least 10. Very easy access to the driveway from River Rd, however there is a little noise from the traffic on River Rd that can be heard only when outside. Would definitely come back!

Property and house are neat and clean and very comfortable for all ages. Lots of places to gather or go off and read. Boat dock is well equipped and fishing/swimming is good. Our only concern was the traffic noise-not use to being so close to a main heavy traveled road. Had a super vacation.

Great house

This was our fifth time staying at Lake Gaston and this was the best house. The owners thought of everything. We have no complaints at all! The pizza oven was a cherry on the cake. The large drink cooler on the dock was a big hit with the adults. We didn’t have to buy ice once. I highly recommend staying at this house, you won’t be disappointed!

5 Star Experience

So much to say about this beautiful home right on the shores of Lake Gaston. Let's start with the location, tucked just off the main lake, the dock is protected, mostly calm and very safe for floating in the water with your friends. And the views from the house and the dock are just open water. The most relaxing expanse of water you could hope for. The dock is also nicely spaced from the neighbors, so you feel a since of privacy, which we really enjoyed. If you rent a boat, the gas dock is literally a 5 minute slow ride away. Nothing could be more convenient. And the house is exactly as advertised. Very log-cabin-ish. With every item in the kitchen that you need for cooking delicious home cooked meals, sharing them either at the large dining room table or on the wrap around porch just beyond the living room. Beds were extremely comfortable, and the attention to detail for renters was the best we have ever experienced. Every light switch, shelf and utility labeled perfectly - so never any issues with operating appliances, lights or where to return things when done. This made the experience feel more welcoming and less stressful than rental houses can sometimes be. Additionally, Lisa was incredibly informative. Responded quickly to any inquiries, even though, once we got there, we didn't have a care in the world. Instructions for arrival/departure were very clear and not at all cumbersome. It was a 5 star experience, house and lake! Would rent again for sure!

Beautiful house

We have stayed at several VRBO's on Lake Gaston and this one is soooooooo nice!! The house is beautiful! It is nicely decorated and has a well supplied kitchen! All six teenagers loved the down stairs! It was nice to be able to rent the pontoon and not have to go to the marina! We will be back!
