We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at this beautiful and relaxing place so close to Lake Hickory NC. With a quiet and wonderful outdoor environment and pool, it was a great place for us to visit and only 10 minutes from downtown Hickory but it was a wonderful escape and the amenities were top notch. I’d highly recommend this place for a family getaway in a delightful area outside of the town. Loved our vacation there and our hosts have highest ratings for good reason.

The Blue Door Cottage is a wonderful get-a-way. The guesthouse is warm and inviting. The grounds are beautiful. The pictures on the site are on point. Our family enjoyed walking to see the neighbors' alpaca and horses. Would definitely recommend.

We loved staying at the Blue Door Guesthouse! Greg and Linda were wonderful hosts! Our daughter had the best time playing with their sweet Alpacas ( the girls) The location is excellent, only 10 minutes from restaurants and shopping but is in peaceful, beautiful setting.
