Was very clean and warm and cozy. The house was fully stocked with all the essentials and was quite, but near town.Carole , the host could not of been nicer and helpful. Would definitely go back again.
This property was perfect for a couple's weekend getaway to Highlands. It was close and easy to get to town. The property was nicely appointed for our stay. The screened in porch was our favorite feature, which included a sitting area as well as a dining table.
The guest house is conveniently located, not far from town. Has a wood burning fireplace which is very cosy. I did not realize it is actually the downstairs/basement of a larger home. It could use a spring refresh, the toilet seat is very loose, there is a water leak stain in the ceiling, and some holes in the walls. The kitchen trash still had the past guests trash and food in it. Bedroom ceiling fan light does not work.
The home was in a quiet neighborhood with a circular road that allowed for walking. We took our dog with us and she loved it! The cottage was perfect for two people and a large dog. We enjoyed the nearby dining and shopping and hanging out by the fireplace. It was too chilly to use the outdoor fire pit but would be great in milder weather. The screen porch has a lot of seating also. So perfect !
This Highlands home was perfect for our weekend at the Food and Wine Festival:) Such a beautiful and cozy mountain home in a quiet neighborhood! Carole was super responsive if we needed anything at all, which we didnât, but she checked on us to make sure everything was good. We will definitely be back here, and also check out Caroleâs other listings!
We enjoyed the screen pirch and surrounding woods. There was a plumbing issue, but the host was very responsive. We would stay here again. My only suggestion is to provide wine glasses in the house.theho1vresponsive. Wohere again ( 1
Great property very close to town (5 minutes). The screened porch is amazing. Very spacious with living and dining areas. The property is well appointed, although I will note that there is no dishwasher. That was not an issue for us as we dined out most afternoons and evenings. I would stay there again. The property and neighborhood was very dog friendly. Highlands also has a very nice dog park that is easy to get to from this property.
Great location as it was a very short drive into town and to the grocery store. Some steep turns and roads to get to the house but once we got there, we really enjoyed the screened in porch and the space in general. Carole was quick to respond to the one question we had and the checkout process was simple with clear instructions. Thanks for the hospitality!
Lovely, quaint cabin in the mountains. Great location! Very small, but all we needed. Carol was very accommodating even offering early checkin and checkout and supplying wood as temperatures were to be in the 20âs!
This is our third time staying at Caroleâs place and weâll return again. Perfect for 2 people. We love dining on the screened porch and sitting by the outdoor fire pit after a day of hiking. Very close to downtown Highlands and restaurants, shops, entertainment. Very quiet immersion in nature but with all the luxuries. Our favorite place to stay.
What a comfortable, peaceful place Carole has for rent. Excellent layout, she is attentive and responsive, and quick with excellent recommendations on restaurants! Loved the porch and plenty of quiet. Rarely do you find such a gem. We will be back.
We headed to Highlands to escape the Georgia heat and found relief on the back porch of My-Hi. We did not prepare a meal there but the kitchen has everything one would need to do so. Bedding was very nice and bathroom appeared to be recently remodeled including a stackable washer and dryer. Parking was a breeze as you pulled up right outside of your quarters. We are already trying to plan another stay soon!
Although I don't think you can walk to town from this unit, it is very close. You can drive to town within 5 minutes. Very convenient to everything downtown has to offer. I loved the screened porch.
Property listed as "totally private guest house" but is really a basement with other renters living above which you can hear. No heat except 2 portable heaters, shower curtain liner covered in mold and mildew. Not horrible, but certainly not worth $300/night.
I was in town primarily to attend a class, then my daughter joined me for a couple of days at the end of my 7-day visit. I was under the impression that this was a stand-along guest house on the property of the main house. It's actually attached to the main house, which was perfectly fine. Very private, nestled in the woods of a small, quiet neighborhood less than a mile from downtown Highlands. There were some issues with the cleanliness of the awesome screened porch and other minor details in the house, but the owner was very responsive and took care of having the porch cleaned. I enjoyed my stay and will possibly return in the future.
Quaint cottage with very nice host. Communication with her was very quick & responsive. Disappointed with the cleanliness of the kitchen utensils & dishes. Walking distance to town but traffic & minimal sidewalks.
