The room was significantly tight with a lack of space. The entire hotel, including the dining space, hallways, elevators, lobby, etc is extremely small and tight. The breakfast buffet was average at best and the coffee we ordered on two mornings (cafe Sua da, cafe Americano) was quite awful. One of the two elevators was down for maintenance for a significant period and they are also quite slow. Check in was a little clumsy and hard to hear and one must always eagerly describe that they are prepared to discuss the area for best shopping and dining and local tourist options. This was not done. Generally the staff is excellent, particularly the doormen, but this hotel should not be rated as a 5 star, our opinion is the hotel qualifies as a 3 star hotel. I am and shall remain confused over the high ratings and glowing reviews and assume it is from tourists with little to experience in travel. We made use of the hotel but never felt we were staying at a 5 star facility.

The hotel is extremely clean, well maintained, quiet and comfortable - while being at the centre of district 1. But the highlight are the staff that make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive - whether that’s by greeting in front of the hotel and helping with luggage or taking care to show around the amenities of the room. It’s a huge accomplishment for the staff to be available and attentive at a compact yet busy facility like this one. Kelly has been a particular star who went above and beyond in helping me navigate a food poisoning I acquired when eating out - including even making a booking at a local clinic and the best raw ginger tea I’ve had in my life.

All of the staff from the door people to the cleaning personnel to the front desk and restaurant servers were so friendly, patient and ready to help when needed: ie Excellent customer service. Grand du Lac Boutique Hotel is a perfect choice for anyone looking for comfort, style, and exceptional service. This is our fourth time staying at this hotel. The reason we keep coming back is the people who work here-they feel like family. They treat us like family, especially Kati. She is such a wonderful lady who always goes above and beyond to help us, even when it is no longer part of her job. We truly enjoyed our stay, and this will be our home whenever we come back to Saigon, hopefully next year. Thank you to Levi for helping us gather our luggage in our room at 3:00 in the morning when we were checking out. Thank you to the housekeeping and kitchen staff. The breakfast is really good. Great hotel in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City! It’s a pretty new hotel so it is extremely modern, clean, and very comfortable! The staff go out of the way to support you and make you feel like you’re at home. The breakfast Buffett had a ton of options and it was delicious. Rooms were well sized and super comfortable.
