Densely canopied side streets with more modest craftsman, cottage and bungalow homes lead up to the national park lands at the edge of the Ouachita mountains that surround the area.
You are likely to see deer, raccoons, squirrels, wild birds and a well-fed groundhog or two. The house is 100 yards from the edge of National Park lands with lots of wildlife visitors.

Watkins Memorial Park 5 blocks from the house to see a day-lighted portion of the 1890`s Hot Springs Creek Tunnel that runs for 3 miles under the city - very cool. The house was so cute and comfortable for us and our dogs. Max and Michelle do a very great job of communicating. The house was very clean and set up with everything we needed.
The house was spotless with all needed amenities (towels, dishes, etc.) and the host was very thoughtful including details like snacks, water, and local recommendations making our stay flawless and enjoyable. The pet friendliness/backyard was superb!
What an amazing place! Had everything we needed and more! Clean everything - comfy beds - everything you need in kitchen - awesome water pressure in shower! Lots of towels / doggie necessities - loved the sun room / loved the records we danced to! Max and Melissa were very helpful. Loved the short distance to trails and also downtown. We will stay here again and recommend to friends!
Very pet friendly and had a fenced in backyard that was perfect for my pup to get some outdoor time. Super clean home with a beautiful sun room and mature oak trees that gave us privacy. The hosts were great. We had no complaints.
It was very quaint and lovely. My 3 adult kids thought the sunroom was the best part. We would drink coffee out there every morning. The extra steps they went to for our 4 legged child was so special, from dog bowels to dog treats. Thanks for a great getaway!!
Wonderful stay! The âThings to do about townâ binder was specific to the days we stayed, recommendations and key tips in the second binder were great to see about what the locals did. Surprise amenities awaited including a wash sink for crystal mining, ground coffee, an empty water jug you can use to fill up at one of the spring spigots, and more. We had a wonderful time and were so happy to stay at Harrell House!
The house was perfect for three friends to explore the area and hang out together. Loved the front porch. It was convenient to a trail head for hiking and felt very safe. The house was very clean and the hosts easy to communicate with. This was our first trip to Hot Springs and I would definitely stay here again on a return trip.
This property had everything we wanted and more! Great for adults, kids, dogs! Hosts thought of everything, location close to trails, scenic drives, bathhouses, EVERYTHING! Solid, quiet house and neighborhood. Just loved it!
Great property very well maintained and has all the things that you need. We enjoyed the record player and the board games. Property was very clean very well organized and is decorated tasteful. I would definitely stay there again if I come back to Hot Springs
This home was absolutely perfect! We were able to bring all three of our dogs which is so rare. They left treats for the pups and had every single thing you might need. It truly felt like we were staying in a family members home. The sun room was our favorite part! Each morning my pups would sun while I read my book and had my coffee. Their plants are also pet friendly and were just beautiful. The owners were very friendly, communicative, and truly thought of everything. They had a binder full of activities and local happenings. I wish we could have stayed there longer as it was the perfect home base when visiting Hot Springs. I cannot recommend this home enough and I absolutely see why itâs rated a 10/10!
Cute little spot close and convenient to town and food spots. The house is dog-friendly as well, with the owners providing cleaning towels, and things to keep them comfortable and taken care of.
The house itself is super cute, the rear private driveway and gate entrance are nice for late night returns to the unit.
Entering, there were fresh cookies and a big jug of the local spring water, and a welcome guide that helped acclimate us to the town and what awesome spots awaited us.
The beds were comfy and the bathrooms clean and functional. A nice shower in one, with a great soaking tub in another.
The kitchen was great for my cooking of meals. I even went to the local butcher to buy some cuts of meat for the grill outside. Utensils and detailed instructions on using the grill lead to a successful cook. Dishwasher was easy to use as well.
The town around the unit is welcoming and had good food options along with grocery stores and other things for the kiddos to do in the event it rains for the majority of your stay like for us (ha ha). The neighborhood around the unit too, was good for dog walking and short adventures.
10/10, would stay here again. Thank you for having us!
We stayed there for two nights with 4 adults and 2 dogs. House was prepared and set up nicely for us and very welcoming to our 2 dogs (dog dishes, towels, treats, and couch covers). Whole house was very clean, kitchen was well stocked - even had welcome cookie box and hot spring water! Location was nice, very quiet neighborhood away from the noise of downtown but close enough that we could just drive back to rest in afternoon if we wanted. Communication from the owner was very prompt and helpful. Definitely will stay here again if we are in the area.
In all of my experiences with booking through VRBO, this was simply THE BEST!!! Such a wonderful house, just a PERFECT bungalow with every amenity you need. Our dogs had an absolute blast hiking on the trails and exploring the town. My partner had never been to Hot Springs before, and the attention the detail at The Harrell House is second to none!!theres an entire bible of attractions and places to go, as well as ANOTHER bible of events broken down BY THE DAY!!! We are already planning our next trip with some friends, and I will NEVER stay anywhere else in Hot Springs!! The pictures donât do this wonderful house justice. Book it yesterday!!!
It was beautiful. It was our first time there. The house was terrific and comfortable. Very clean and close to everything. The owners were amazing. We cant wait to go back. Will use this property again.
Stay at the Harrell House in Hot Springs, Arkansas
Clean, comfy, truly dog friendly house! We enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed another day! Thanks for the complimentary water jug! Weâve filled it up with water from the springs.
Wife and I really liked the place. It's nice and quiet and the private drive is really nice. The place was clean and accepted dogs. I had some communication with the owner and everything was pleasant and perfect. We would definitely look at staying here again when we come to hot springs. The kids liked the middle bed and the way the house was laid out as well. Dogs liked the fenced in back-yard and the laundry / mud room was really convenient. Really, we enjoyed the place and don't have any complaints.
We loved staying here! They thought of anything and everything you might need incase you forgot something. I mean EVERYTHING! The harrell home is the home away from home. I make a lot of trips to hot springs and this is by far the best home to stay at. Your are close to everything but yet far away at the same time. They have such a open floor plan which is great for someone with little ones. Your kept updated on the latest activities going on. If you have questions about anything they will respond quick. Such wonderful people! Already planning my mext visit.
What a great place! We can't say enough about the thoughtful amenities for us and our dog. This peaceful setting will stay at the top of our list for a return visit.
