Great Mom and Pa motel and restaurant!
Great Mom and Pa motel and restaurant! Great view of Keweenaw Bay and Lake Superior. Sunrises were fantastic! Motel was built in the 50's. Room was small but comfortable. Only cons were road noise from Highway 41 and no AC which you don't need in the UP of Michigan! Restaurant had great food. Fish is fresh daily from the Keweenaw Bay. The wife had the baked Whitefish and said it was very good. Owners Carla and Doug were very very friendly and would accommodate all your needs during your stay. You will never get treatment like this at a Big Box Hotel! Will recommend and stay here from now on every time I visit the Keweenaw. Thanks Carla and Doug for an awesome stay!

Small motel-like accommodations.
Pros:The view.
Cons:Needs new bedding, pillows and sheets. Outdated.
Location:Short drive to Michigan Tech University.
This motel has a beautiful view of the water but there is a lot of traffic noise. No AC so when the windows are open you're hearing cars and trucks. The room was clean and the bed acceptable but pillows were pitiful. Decorating is 1950s cabin home style. TV was excellent and free cable was great. Their restaurant is very comfy with a gorgeous view of the water and the food was very reasonable, plentiful and good.

Overnight Stay
Pros:The price, but still not worth it.
Cons:Remove dirty furniture. Old is one thing, but worn as well as dirty?
We were on a road trip from MI through Wisconsin into the Upper UP and stayed in a different motel for 6 nights. Though Carla and the worker from the restaurant were nice, the condition of this motel was very disappointing. It was very dated, the space is very small, but worse than that it made you wonder how clean it really was and if you wanted to get under the sheets -- we decided not to. The side cloth chair was so worn and dirty that it wasn't something I would sit in let alone store in my basement. If it were mine, It would have long ago been put in the dumpster. The floors were not level. The bathroom very dated; I used the shower in the morning and that worked fine. They do have a view of the lake (as they claim the $1,000,000 view) across the street and chairs outdoors to sit, but the traffic from the road ruins the experience. I did get a nights rest, but would not repeat my stay nor recommend to anyone.

Nice mom and pop hotel
This was by far one of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in.
They are cozy rooms. You get a cottage like feeling. Great price for what you get. The view from the rooms is awesome.
