Beautiful property. Unfortunately, as has been reported previously, you are not alone. The host stays downstairs and you rent his upstairs. This is not a situation when there are two entrances or a locked door between you and the host - you share the house with host. You share the kitchen, the refrigerator and the entrance in and out of the house. He has easy access to the upstairs. Most importantly, you have no real privacy.We easily could have stayed with family if we had known this was the rental arrangement. We chose the place for its proximity to Bridgeland and the privacy desired to unwind and relax at the end of the day. This was not what we thought we were getting. The host did alert us that he lived downstairs, but we thought it was a mother-in-law apartment or some sort of separate dwelling - not a complete house sharing arrangement. Iâd be interested to know if this is even compliant with VRBOâs hosting Terms and Conditions. At a minimum, it seems like itâs 100% out of step with their advertising campaign.TL/DR - Not happy. Privacy is what VRBO advertises. Privacy was not delivered. Take down this listing and please consider refunding me the remainder of the payment.
