After you walk past the beer bottles and homeless you enter to a 30 minute wait to check in. You have to give $50 to insure you don’t get hair color or makeup on towels. Breakfast was cereal and bread had to get blankets from desk to complete the bedding . Had roach motels on floor. At night had roaches on bathroom floor. Check out was slow. Desk person had to go inspect your room before getting your deposit back. Definitely not staying there again

I come to work weekends in Houston. I Have stayed at Clarion many times and for the most part have had no issues. However leaving out from hotel many young men appear to have stayed up all night standing around in parking lot smoking and talking loud in groups Which makes me feel uneasy in early morning hours. Seems to be a lot of party night owls waiting for the sun to rise. Very uncomfortable for a woman who is alone.

We arrived on July 20. The desk clerk was very helpful and courteous. She deserves to be highly commended for the manner in which she helped us!!!!!! My only teeny complaint was the fact that I was subjected to Fox News droning on in the breakfast area. It was an unpleasant aspect of an otherwise lovely stay.

Second time's a charm

This is my second stay at the hotel and I'm still just as impressed as I was the first time.

Security Issues

Pros: The rooms were very spacious. Will, at the front desk and Kentria Clark were wonderful at assisting us in apprehending the woman.

As a family we booked 4 rooms for multiple nights at this hotel as part of a major family celebration in the Houston area. My Daughter who had a 2 year old with her, had her room ransacked and items stolen while they were out. When her husband was notifying the front desk the woman tried to gain access to the room. After the police arrived my daughter refused to stay at the hotel. Hotel security was less than helpful. The person at the front desk was flustered. the manager never showed up or tried to contact us. I spotted the woman the next morning as she had my daughter's backpack. The clerk at the desk and the head housekeeper assisted in apprehending her and holding her till the police arrived. The woman had been occupying, damaging, and stealing from random rooms for most of the week. My son noticed that the doors on many of the rooms failed to latch properly, and found his door unlatched several times even after informing the front desk. The process for ensuring that "no show" rooms remained vacant was not properly followed, maintenance was lax on the door lock, maid staff was negligent in ensuring rooms properly secured after cleaning. Most disappointing is that we were never contacted directly by the manager of the hotel all interaction was by phone with his staff.
