Hotel Ideal : tres mal entretenu

Personnel tres chalheureux, serviable et acceuillant. Mauvais gout sur la decoration de la chambre, baignoire non fixee et avec grosse fuite d eau, chambre relativement poussiereuse et sale le jour de notre arrivee, hotel tres mal entretenu, infiltrations d eau sur plusieurs murs de la chambre. Notre chambre n a pas ete faite durant nos 3 nuits passes a l hotel sous pretexte de n avoir qu un seul jeux de clefs !

Great location

Great hotel great location but if you have little ones or go to bed early make sure you get a room in the back because the music at walking Street in front is quite loud, but it does go down at 11 and then it stops at midnight Also, this walking street is perfect for families. There were lots of children running around as well.

The staff was very friendly. The rooftop pool clean but small. Nothing there to chill. The room was not in a good condition. In front of the Hotel is the walking street, so it's very loud untill 2 at night. Breakfast was very low. But yeah, as I told, the staff was very friendly....

This property is right on the edge of the backpacker / European tourist hotel / night club district in Hue. The district is blocked off from Hue's crazy traffic in the evening so you can stroll without much care at being run down by a motorbike. It is a couple of blocks from the river with access by foot, if you are brave, across the two bridges to The Citadel. If you need to have breakfast with Europeans or are looking for continental fare, you are in the wrong hotel. The Ideal seems to cater to Asian tourists. A large party of Vietnamese were all over the small breakfast room the morning after I arrived. A frequently changing staff were uniformly friendly and accommodating to my lack of any effective Vietnamese language skill.

Great location, shame there is no chairs

We booked the largest of the room types, and it was a large room, with a great balcony, but thats about all. It had 2 double beds but NO WHERE to sit apart from the balcony or the beds, very disappointed, would had preferred one queen bed and a couple of lounge chairs. I found the bath very difficult to get into (I have a bed leg) and hubby had to help me. Although you could ring for hot water to make a coffee, very inconvenient, why not have a kettle etc as in most hotels?? On a more positive note, the breakfast was nice, but no other cafe in the actual hotel. the staff is great and very helpful. The location is excellent, lots of shopping and cafes within a 100 metres walk in any directions. The balcony was great and very relaxing to sit on and watch the world go by. Generally a great location, big room and but we wont stay there again if we decide to go to Hue on our next trip. unless there is seating and a jug in our room

Good choice!

Very clean and comfortable but low-budget hotel, in walking-distance to the city centre, with a swimming pool on the roof top (unfortunately covered with "swimming" insects..) including a quite nice view. Our room's highlight was the well maintained balcony with plants, 2 chairs and a table. Quite strange but funny interior decoration. The receptionist was the best we ever had in Vietnam. Breakfast according expectations, nothing special. I can recommend this hotel to everyone who is searching for a good price-quality ratio!

poor and awful, the worst hotel I experienced

Poor!!!Hygiene is poor, the used clothes did not change and renew. We, 3 people, only have 2 big towels, 2 medium towels and 2 face towels. No renewal of our USED towels!!! Very poor and disgusting. The air-conditioner was damnly crap, we were sweating at room with turning the air-conditioner at the lowest degree!!! The breakfast was disgusting, no air-conditioning at breakfast lounge. The breakfast area is just next to the entrance with a lot of flies to share meals with you!!! Booked 2 nights, but one night has no wifi. Swimming pool was only 2 bathtubs size. Also, the next building was under construction and the construction debris was scattered into the swimming pool but nobody to clear. The manner of staff was lazy and not helpful .... awful and terrible. If you are a human being, dont book this horrible hotel in your whole life!!!

Nice staff. Good location. Good room conditions. Nothing exceptional, but all around ok. There was a computer in our room with internet and we had hot water thermous delivered to us without even asking so that we can make coffee. Nice little touches that added to our experience.

Cold in December

In the end of December humidity in the hotel was high and we felt wet and cold. Thjere is a new hotel construction in the very nabouring, and it covers part of the hotel.

Great location and balcony a bonus

Location and staff were excellent. Hotel is what you expect for the price. Needs some maintenance but rooms were large and comfortable and the balconies are great. There is building going on next door but we didn't find it a problem.

CLOSE TO BARS AND RESTAURANTS. WHILST WE WERE IN HUE THE WEATHER WAS UNUSUALLY COLD BUT THE BEST THE HOTEL COULD OFFER WAS AN EXTRA BLANKET. BREAKFAST O.K. BUT VARIABLE ACCORDING TO HOW MANY GUESTS WERE STAYING. LOVELY BALCONY WITH PIPED MUSIC AND WATER FEATURE. ROOM DECORATION QUITE FUNKY. REASONABLE VALUE FOR MONEY.

Ideal hotel bare ideelt

Hotellet ligger meget centralt til alt - ikke langt fra den gamle by og Perfume - river med markedet lige ovre pÄ den anden side af floden. Spisesteder i rigt mÄl lige om hjÞrnet. Dejlige store vÊrelser med en sÊrdeles hyggelig "have" - balkon med musik, planter og springvand. Morgenmaden var OK, men heller ikke mere.

The perfect choice

This small hotel was more than we expected & everything it says it was on the internet. We extended our stay by another day, & would have stayed longer still if we didn't have other bookings. We had been upgraded, room 601, a beautiful & large room with all the trimmings, a cup of tea bought to us when we got to our room, a lovely garden balcony with music & water running. Free breakfast was basic but plenty. The staff were unbelievable. They could not do enough to help us & nothing was a problem. We have travelled to many countries & stayed in many hotels from 2 - 4 star & this would have to be the best overall. The location was also great with restaurants a few steps away, the Perfumed river about 5 minutes walk, everything about this place was perfect. A must stay in our books!

Try the roof top pool after a busy day experiencing Hue

With this hotel you Wrong. I don't normally write reviews but felt on this occasion they deserved it. Perfect location with plenty of places to eat and drink all around, Great value for money, and clean and spacious rooms. we were greated with a drink on arrival and were given a leaving present of some local speciality sweets upon departure. Staff were very friendly with good grasp of the English language. The pool on the roof top is a bonus and although small, is a great way to unwind after a hot day of sightseeing and experiencing Hue. I would stay again!
