Stunning 5-bedroom farmhouse within easy reach of North Devon beaches

The beautiful Higher Mullacott Farmhouse comfortably accommodates up to 10 in five bedrooms and is the perfect self-catering property for large groups or families looking for a memorable summer holiday in North Devon. Situated on the outskirts of Ilfracombe, the farmhouse is within easy reach of many of the area number one attractions, including the award-winning Woolacombe beach, which is just a 10-minute drive away. This tastefully decorated farmhouse has a wonderful mix of period charm and modern day elegance. Dating back to the 17th century, the recently refurbished farmhouse (2021) has a wonderful home-away-from-home atmosphere.

Finished to a very high standard the farmhouse has plenty of space both inside and out for all the family to enjoy. On the ground floor of the property there is a well-equipped farmhouse kitchen with flagstone floors, appliances fitted include an electric range cooker, a separate electric oven and hob, a fridge, two freezers, coffee machine and a dishwasher. The kitchen also has a comfy seating area, and a large dining table to seat 10. Shallow steps lead from the kitchen to the utility area where the washing machine can be found along with a ground floor cloakroom. A door leads out to the communal gardens, which cover around 3.5 acres and feature table tennis, a football area, a children's play area and landscaped gardens for enjoying a picnic. A smaller terrace area can be found to the front of the farmhouse.

The living room at the farmhouse is full of character with exposed stone walls and wood beams. Within the lounge there are large sofas and a TV. Off the lounge is the handy downstairs bedroom, which has a double bed and benefits from an en-suite shower room.

Upstairs there are a further four bedrooms, these include the Master with king-size bed and en-suite shower room, one double bedroom with a flat screen smart TV and king-sized bed, and one twin bedroom, and one double or twin (depending on your requirements) with a flat screen smart TV and fabulous views of the garden and the other with courtyard views. The final three bedrooms share the family bathroom, which has a bath with shower overhead.

A fantastic place for a family break!

What a wonderful place! We had a really special Christmas at Higher Mullacott Farm. The house is so cosy and comfortable, yet it is spacious enough for 10. It is very well-equipped, and well-located for coastal walks and beaches. I can highly recommend this lovely farmhouse for a family break.

Great family Holiday

In the current climate decided to go to Devon with the family. This property is excellent everything you need is there for a great time i.e. excellent playground for the kids and also stuff for the adults to play i.e. table tennis, badminton, football. Would definitely go again.

A great family holiday

The farmhouse was a great place to stay for an 80th birthday celebration with all the family. It is extremely well equipped and comfortable with plenty of space for 12 of us aged from nearly two to 80. The children really enjoyed the large garden with all its facilities. There are lots of lovely places to visit and fabulous beaches at Woolacombe and Saunton.

Comfortable and spacious holiday home, well equipped and ideal for a large group. The ‘Beach Hut’ is a bonus as it provides the basics for a visit to the beach to surf. The extensive grounds provide play facilities for table tennis and a kick about area as well as play module.

Excellent property, idea for a large group. We were a large family looking to have a week celebrating a milestone birthday, the property was everything we were looking for, clean, well equipped, excellent location. We had a minor issue which was resolved extremely quickly. The kitchen area was perfect for family meals. The bedrooms were spacious. We will definitely return.

A beautiful home from home

We had a very happy holiday. The farm house was spotlessly clean with everything we could possibly need. It was warm and comfortable for all the family. The rooms are spacious, beautifully appointed and cared for. Tina and her husband could not have been more friendly and helpful. Thank you for looking after us.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay at Higher Mullacott Farmhouse. We were 2 families with teenage children and there was plenty of space for us all including lots of bathrooms. The kitchen was great, very well stocked and good space to cook and socialise. Thank you for the welcome gift of scones, milk etc. It was always lovely and warm and really comfortable. The garden was beautiful and we enjoyed the table tennis despite the windy weather. Good recycling options too. Information beforehand was very clear and helpful including how to find the property, parking and what was included. Location was close to the coast for beach and cliff top walks and arcades for the teenagers! We also visited Lynton and Lynmouth, and Watermouth Castle which were close by. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Farmhouse

The Farmhouse cottage is very good for a large group with all facilities you would expect of a high end cottage in Devon. The on site support was very helpful. The cottage is in a good location for access to all the main sites and beaches in Nth Devon. The only disappointment was the quality of the wifi. Could only get adequate reception/speed in 2 places. Overall very good .
