This hotel clearly aims to make its guests having a comfortable stay. It not only provides free-of-charge coffee and a variety of herbal tea leaves, teapots and cups but also recipes for brewing different kinds of herbal teas depending on your needs such as relaxation etc. There are also free alcoholic drinks provided in the evening. Guests can make their own cocktail drinks. They even provide essential oils, burners and candles for guests to use in their rooms. The breakfast does not have many choices but are of good quality. The only downside is that the bathroom in the room is very small.

Hotel Patina is a unique place to stay. The staff are always available. The location is on the outskirts of Ishigaki town. The bathroom was tight, but manageable. Breakfast was well done with kitchen attendants ready to help.

Solid choice smaller hotel

A short walk (7 minutes) from both the main shopping area and the port, the Patina makes a good base. The rooms are pleasant though not spacious. Well equipped. Remove shoes before entering room. Pajamas supplied. Washing machines and detergent free, charge for dryer. Free mouthwash and other toiletries. High level of eco awareness - perks offered for skipping daily towel/sheets changing. Good breakfast buffet. Free parking. Helpful staff.

Too bad our room was facing a wall

Bed was too hard and our room was facing a well so no view at all. Overall service was good, cozy small hotel and convenient. Special thanks to the lady at front desk who was very helpful on booking our fishing trip.

I had positive experiences at this hotel. The staff was very professional and polite. Room was small, but it was very clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. Their free toiletry kit was way more than what I expected. The breakfast buffet was also delicious.

Nice east meets west

A basic hotel which offers the necessary amenities and services for a good value. Located in the tourist area of town, but 5 minutes walk away from the hustle bustle part of the port, it is quiet at night. Standard Japanese room size (small) but very clean and well kept. Free bike loaners are available and the breakfast is a combination of Japanese and western fares. The staff spoke sufficient English, and were helpful with directions and eating recommendations. Politely asks for guests to remove shoes in room (good).

Great location to ferry and excellent breakfast.

Great staff support. The manager speaks English well. His recommendation to Iriomote was excellent. We took his advice and had a great day in Iriomote. The hotel was in a convenient location walking to downtown and the ferry port. Would highly recommend this hotel for those who likes self guided tour around the islands.

Convenient, comfortable and value

Near City centre and port but far enough away to be quiet. Free wifi and washing machine use with low cost tumble dryer which was very effective. Great breakfast as always.

It is a good hotel have essential facilities. But the size of room is a bit small. But overall, my stay was comfortable. It has some strong points. Bicycle are avaliable for borrow free of charge for six hours. Luggage delivery service is avaliable. Staff are very nice. Also some staff can speak Engish.

Great for the price!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. My parents had a twin room and I had a single room. They were both the same size which means mine felt way more spacious the theirs a little thight. You could choose if you wanted to have your room cleaned or not and if you didn't you gained points which could be exchanged for a gift at the end of your stay. An interesting system I thought but it was fun. The staff was really helpful but didn't seem to speak much english (I can speak basic Japanese). They helped us rent a car when most places where full and helped us find restaurants. The location is a bit out of the way of restaurants so you have to walk a minimum of 10 minutes. Nevertheless, it is still convenient and very close to the port if you wish to take a tour and see Taketomi island, Iriomote island etc. I highly recommend the water buffalo tours! Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.
