Taigh Eva is a single-storey cottage with two double bedrooms and a bathroom featuring a bath, walk-in shower, basin, and WC. It includes a well-equipped kitchen/diner, utility room, and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. Amenities include oil central heating, an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee maker, Smart TV, and WiFi. Fuel, power, and a starter pack for the stove are included. Bed linen and towels provided. Highchair and travel cot available on request. Off-road parking for two cars. Wraparound garden with lawn, patio, and furniture. No pets or smoking. Shop 3 miles, pub 6.4 miles. Enjoy a true Scottish escape at Taigh Eva. Note: Steps up to property, please take care. Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping Bond of 250 GBP. Please note: Property can only accept a minimum of 7 nights stay.
The Neighborhood:
The village of Lochmaddy is the terminus for the daily ferry linking it to Uig on the Isle of Skye and it is also the main centre of population for the island of North Uist. Lochmaddy has good facilities and services including a selection of hotels serving fresh local produce in their dining rooms. A visit to the award-winning museum and arts centre located in the centre of Lochmaddy is a must, and there is also a tourist office full of information about local events and places to visit. The road south of Lochmaddy will lead you to the village of Carinish some 10 miles away and if you continue on this road you can cross the causeway to the island of Benbecula. The town of Balivanich in Benbecula offers shops, post office, a bank, restaurant, a petrol station and an airport, from which car hire can be arranged. The causeway from Benbecula then leads onward to the island of South Uist.
