The apartment was very clean and spacious. There were steep stairs to reach the second floor unit but that was described in the apartment listing so it was not a surprise.
Had a wonderful week, exploring Istanbul. The apartment is in a fun neighborhood and close to transportation. It was well equipped and comfortable for us. Our host was very responsive and arranged airport pickup/drop off for us. He had good recommendations to share. We felt well taken care of and like locals.
The location was really great. It was close to all of the tourist attractions.
There was garbage around the outside and poor maintained litter boxes for cats . When we arrived, I had to vacuum the bedroom. The couch was slouching and not very comfortable. The chairs were dirty and stained . The kitchen utensils were of very poor quality the one frying pan that we had was a nonstick with a lot of scratches and very old. The apartment was beautiful except for these items listed.
Apartment was in a very old part of the city with very steep streets and abundant earthy bustle accomdating all manner of commercial activity. There were cats everywhere and that really lended special ambience to the apartmentâs location. There were many restaurants nearby and also a grocery store.
I loved this property overall. It had everything we needed, including a washer, which was very handy. There were always friendly neighbors, kids and cats playing in the street outside, which lent a lot of charm. There's also a couple of markets and a great kebab restaurant just at the end of the street, which was very convenient. The only drawback for me was the location. While close the the Grand Bazzar, after my visit I would personally choose to be closer to Sultanahmet and importantly UP the hill closer to the tram. The climb back and forth from the bottom to the top of the hill to get to transportation is no joke. That being said, we still enjoyed it. Great host communication as well. Thank you!
If you are looking to be in the middle of the culture on this residential street in Fatih, this is a great location. We walked to restaurants and shopping very easily. The apartment is beautiful, spacious and clean. The shower is modern and spacious. The bed was really comfortable too. It is new but has the traditional Turkish wood house ascetics. The window seat in the living room
has a view of the Marmara Sea. The housekeeper lives next door should any problems arise, and she is accommodating and kind.
