The space :
Make yourself at home in this spacious, quiet and peaceful, loft-bedroom studio with large living area and glass sliders opening onto our 5 acre lifestyle property. You will marvel at the serenity of being just 10 minutes from Kaikoura town.

Totally private, with separate entrance, and all your own space - about 50 sq. metres - this bedroom is located at the eastern end of our house. It is large and lofty, with cedar wood ceiling, beachy white floor boards and decor to match. There is a queen bed in the loft section and a sofa bed downstairs. You will witness the sunrise from the loft bed, they can be quite spectacular if the clouds allow! White Caps is part farm stay, part country retreat.

We will greet you upon check-in, after that, enjoy your independence and privacy. But if you need anything at all, or are feeling sociable, we live 24/7 on the property and are only too happy to chat!

There are three gracious moo-ing female lawnmowers on-site named Tilly, Brownie & Speckles. We also have a gorgeous teddy-bear lookalike Golden Doodle puppy named Bonnie!

Please note, there is no kitchenette, but if you want to bring your own food from town, there are plenty of plates, dishes, bowls, cutlery, glassware and so on. There's also a mini fridge, kettle, toaster and Nespresso machine. Help with heating food via our own microwave is available upon request.

The sun rises out of the sea right in front of your eyes and the Hapuku River is just down the wooded slope beside the house. For access to the river, you can drive just two minutes down the road and don't forget the surf beach, 5 minutes away.

Here in Hapuku you are away from the street lights of Kaikoura so the stars of the Milky Way fairly blaze at night! The nights are pretty cool right now, but you can always throw those layers on, take our picnic rug out onto the paddock and look for a shooting star!

If you prefer the goggle box, there is a smart TV with freeview channels, TVNZ on demand, Netflix and Disney+.

In the morning, make yourself breakfast. We provide milk, bread, margarine, spreads, and cereal. Sometimes there is fruit, boiled eggs, or yoghurt, depending on what’s about the place.

Parking is safe and spacious, right outside your room. You could even bring a boat on a trailer and park it in front of our red barn/garage.
