The AC worked well. The space in this house was perfect. 2 bedrooms upstairs and 1 downstairs. The walls need to be painted. Felt safe, parked in driveway. Beds felt very clean.

The first person could not get in because there was a lock box on the rail for a key and the code did not work. They had to wait and then we called vrbo but finally figured out that there was something on the door that lit up when you touched it.I had messaged the owner previously asking if there was a lock box or would he meet us there to which he replied one word- "Yes." I again asked yes you will meet us or yes there is a box somewhere. He did not reply. He never sent a message withing 24 hours or months after I applied and paid. I messaged him two week before and asked if he got my previous message two months earlier saying there were three of us and that is why I got three rooms. He replied"Fine, No". That was all I heard from my host until the generic message the day of the trip which I had already received from Vrbo. The kitchen trashcan was broken and fell on the floor whenever we used it. It was advertised fully equipped kitchen but there were no bakeware or baking pans or cookie sheets. A few saucepans. Needless to say, we brought food but we did eat out every meal. We retrieved towels out of the dryer. There was no hand soap in the master bath. I was not aware you had to bring that. I thought hotel supplies would be available. My friend opened a cupboard above and it fell off in her hand and would have cut her face if she had not moved. We did call the owner because another is broken and ready to fall and would be a safety hazard to those coming after us.

Location was good. You can hear a train in the distance and a dog barking. Beds were clean. Downstairs bed is the least comfortable and you can hear everything upstairs. The house needs much needed tlc and deep clean. Felt like the house was mins away from falling apart with the sounds the floor made when you walked and all the cracks in the drywall. Cleaners definitely did the bare minimum.

Comfy place for a stay in Kansas City

The owner made this a great place to stay. Check in was super easy and the house was clean and ready. Beds were very comfortable and we had all the things we needed in the kitchen. The location was in a residential area close to museums we wanted to visit. Nearby grocery store and walmart were a big plus.

This house (or should I say duplex) was okay, and the price was decent. We have stayed in dozens of VRBO's, but this was not our favorite. To be fair, there just was not much in this area to choose from. The AC was good, the bed was better than most hotel beds, the bath towels were very good, and the toilet had the elongated toilet which we appreciated. The house was very clean. The neighborhood was not the best, the driveway had room for two cars but there was a car parked in one of the two spots, so we were not able to use the second spot. Since we had multiple people staying here for a family reunion, that was a bit of a disappointment. The front door latch was installed backwards, the ice maker and water on the door of the fridge did not work, the kitchen was not as stocked as I was expecting. But it gave us a good place to sleep for the reunion, and we were thankful for that.

My thoughts

The property is very nice and cozy. Its decorated very nicely. It has a home vibe if you will. What I mean by that is, you feel at home there. I would definitely stay there again. I do think you need to do a better job of explaining that you need to put in 2 different codes for the lock and the door handle to get in.

Bed Bugs!!!

I found a bed bug in my bed when i woke up. I told the owner about the issue, sent him pictures, and asked for my money back to find another place during my stay. He has still refused. I left immediately. Do not stay at this location!
