Comfortable home-like apartment with gorgeous view
The place is fantastic: the builing is situated on one of the most beautiful boulevards in the city, and is only 2mn by foot to the metro station Sanduo. My studio room, located on the 31st floor, has a gorgeous view of the harborside of the city, overlooking some stunning architecture including the famous Tuntex 85 and a 68-floor skyscraper under construction. The room consists of a kitchenette (no cooking facilities though), a bathroom, a seating area and a sleeping area, plus a small balcony from which we could watch the beautiful sunset over Kaohsiung Harbor and Taiwan Strait. The decor is classic, with a home-like feel, and overall it's very comfortable. There is also a washing machine on the balcony. Next to the entrance of the builidng there is a Family Mart for buying food/drink and other necessities.

Unpleaseant Stay
It was my worst experience since I started booking thru Hotel.com! I arrived at 4pm, was told to wait for a moment as the housekeeper was checking the room, coming down shortly to bring us up. After half an hour, I checked with the counter, they told me room not ready need another half an hour. They should have told us from the beginning so that we can walk around and find some food instead of standing outside the counter suffering from hunger for half an hour before telling us room not ready. Next felt disappointment with the water pressure, was very small for a thorough bath. Finally, told us about there is washing machine to use, but due to the water pressure, it took around 40 min to fill up the washer tub. Total washing time took us 2 hours plus...which we have to wait to hang before we go to bed.

Dated facilities in an old building; nice staff
The pictures online look NOTHING like the apartment we were assigned, which was probably last redecorated in 1980. It was fairly cramped and the amenities were very basic and/or old (I ended up buying a shower curtain because ours was all mildewed). They did provide fresh towels and daily trash removal, and the weekly cleaning was good. The location is okay - very convenient to MRT, but not really the central part of KH. The staff were all very nice, but I don't think anyone speaks English except the manager.
