Upon arrival we entered the reception area and found a lady who was unhappy with her room. One of the staff looked past the lady and at me and my partner and rolled his eyes and said âdonât worry about herâ. In our first room all of the plaster on the windowsill had blown. The bathroom door did not shut and when we did get it to shut we found that the door face had been stapled on so when we re-opened it the door face got wedged onto the door frame. The shower had a bout 5 streams of water coming out of it and did not suffice at all. We had requested a king bed to which when we arrived we found we had 2 singles pushed together so the join of the 2 mattresses in the middle were very uncomfortable. We complained about the bathroom situation and they came and looked and wanted to re-staple the door again but my partner & I were not happy about this and they moved us rooms however we encountered similar problems in our other room. When we also requested about getting something to eat at around 5:30/6 we were informed we couldnât have any mains or starters as everything was still pre cooking. The hotel staff were very rude and not professional in the slightest. The hotel has so much potential but with the current ownership it is wasted.
In need of some essential repairs. Window surrounds poor. No electric handrail in bathroom with no plug to hand basin. Seemed as if new takeover with limited renovation funds. Well situated for purposes of journey. Needs further capital spent on improvements
Looked good when booking and looked nice when I got there.
Checked in and room was ok, dated and bathroom had a flicking light.
My major issue was the food - poor menu so I was told so had to order a Thai green curry which came out with hard rice and mushy overdone curry. I asked for a refund, no refund available which is a joke in 2025!! I then had to reorder and was served a microwaved spaghetti bolognese. I know it was microwaved as the lady at reception told me so.
If I knew the food was at this low standard I would have not ordered so I could have gone and got food elsewhere.
This has got to be one of the worst Iâve stayed at in 2 years
Stunningly bad hotel. Food is absolutely atrocious and a disgrace . Staff ignorant and unhelpful at best.
Room is of the drug addict hostel style with random kitchen fridges placed in the room as well as a bed with a mattress that had seen its best by the 1980s. Fire doors havenât had their hinges oiled this century with the noise from them keeping you awake most of the night. No staff are present most of the time. Powdered scrambled egg for breakfast with out of date yoghurts. All in all, one of the worst examples of a hotel in the U.K.
All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Relaxing and perfect environment after a long journey
Quite impressed, and would definitely stay again. My room was spacious and comfortable, but could have used more table/desk working space, and an extra chair. Bathroom could do with updating, but that is being rather picky. Good value for the price.
