This is our fourth stay at Kamaole Sands and nothing beats the location, overall property, and amenities at the site.
Here is a summary of our feedback:
Pro's:
- Ground floor lanai made for easy access to pool and grounds. Larger area with wonderful selection of beach tools and equipment which we all appreciated very much.
- Kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed to cook it. Some of the pans were warped so need to be restocked (teflon on bottom of one pot was in bad condition and ended up in our food)
- Great building location and the unit was relatively cool thanks to afternoon shade.
Con's:
- Unit needs some extra TLC and updating when reviewing comparables in a similar price range. Besides a shop vac and well-used brooms, cleaning supplies were not available for me to do a mid-stay clean (no scrubbers or cleaning sprays). Next time I would book housekeeping to come after one week.
- Not enough linens and beach towels for a family of 4 - one towel each is not enough for a 2 week stay for 4 people. The bedroom linens left something to be desired - one flannel blanket had store tags and another set had some surface stains from previous stays. A duvet would have been appreciated for Master and a mattress protector that actually fits the King sized bed.
- Finally, I contacted property manager to share that clothes washer had left rust-coloured streaks over our white clothing. We did not receive any response - so communication could have been better.
I would absolutely stay at Kamaole Sands again but for the amount of money we spent, I would seek a unit that has been a bit more cared for and extra touches to feel like home. It would also be important to check for units that have reviews left by previous visitors so that we had some expectations going in.
