We loved the location, and the staff members that we did interact with were great. Staff shortages impacted the usual service we would expect from a hotel. Parking was tight but we made it work. Will come again!

Staff was great. My coffee maker didn’t work and housekeeper brought me a new one for the second morning. They had coffee in the lobby area too. Quiet location right across from the beach

Rooms were an okay budget option, with a bunch of bad design choices (gigantic closet with 4 hangers, no door, and no drawers for clothes; walk in shower that is obviously letting water out around the sides and damaging the surround). After a few years living in HI, I had my first roach on pillow experience, but staff handled it well and relocated us. There are only a handful of restaurants within walking distance, so a car is necessary if you want to do more than lay on the beach. Very quiet area, lovely property, but not the experience I was expecting based on reviews I read.

My partner and I booked penthouse and although we booked this for part of our stay knowing we won’t be spending much time in the room itself due to tours, we at least expected cleanliness, quiet and comfortable sleep. The penthouse that is advertised as “garden view” is a glass box sitting on top of front desk. There is absolutely no privacy and not garden for that matter. All the guests, passerby’s and construction workers across the street could see us at all times. There was no garden view, instead we were facing 2 construction zones on the opposite sides of the building so no where to escape. It was noisy and started at 7 am. Maybe don’t call something garden view if there isn’t one. And don’t call something a penthouse because that sets expectations high. Not to the main disappointment - cleanliness. The room seem to have been renovated. But whatever they did to the floors doesn’t work. After walking in the bedroom floor for a minute, literally getting from downstairs to upstairs bathroom, I stepped on a towel and it let orange stain. It colored our feet orange. And the floors were dirty. We reported this twice and allegedly it was cleaned twice but it was dirty. We took picture of a Kleenex we swiped on the floor before we walked on it and it was orange black. This was allegedly reported to manager and we received no follow up at all. The wrap around patio/balconies were covered in bird poop since check in. Neighbor’s alarm at 4am & critters on the roof added to it.

Staff was nice but the place we stayed in had paint peeling of the walls, rotting baseboard in the bathroom, laminate peeling off of cabinets. I would have spent a bit more money to say somewhere that wasn't falling apart.
