A good motel at a decent price

The beds were extremely hard and the room could have been cleaner. But for the value, it is not a bad motel to stay at. The staff was willing to help in every way they could. The access to the pool and beach were very nice and easy. The only thing I wish is that their advertising advised you that there is no elevator steps only.

Only did a 1 night stay. The price was amazing for a Wednesday in the height of season. The building is older & they are working on it. The double room is small with a tiny bathroom but it has an everything you need for a short stay. Anything longer than that and it would be cramped. Enjoyed the pool, beach access & location. We enjoyed our stay and would come again.

I have never been more misled by previous reviews on Expedia. This hotel is rated fairly high and I found it to be anything but. At check-in, I had to deal with hip-hop music playing inappropriately loud, but at least the clerk realized I was not enjoying it and shut it off. Then I blame myself for not reading the reservation closely enough to realize I’m not in the main building on the beach, I’m half a block down and on the other side of the road. The corridors to these rooms were filthy, overflowing with bags and bags of garbage and boxes just laying around the windows in my room rooms had cobwebs in every corner at night. I want to turn my bedside lamp on, but there was no switch on the lamp. It had been removed. In fact everything in the room was unplugged. I plugged the lamp back in at which time the light bulb burst and started flickering, and there was broken glass on my table. I called the front desk to report it, and they said they would have it fixed, but no one ever showed up. Maybe most of the reviews were lucky enough to be in the main building which might be Better But if you are on the annex building, it really is a poor hotel.

Breakfast was good but if you want ice for your warm OJ you need to go back to your room to get that. Before entering room there is a huge hole in the door granted it’s from erosion but the amount they charge for this place! Light shined through and I covered with a towel because the water bugs on the balconies and steps I was scared they were gonna come in through that hole. There was sand all over in rooms had to sweep before we got settled. I understand it’s an ocean front property but the amount of sand in the room was crazy. A vacuum would help. Dried burnt food on stove. Rust on fridge, dust on lamps. Hair on sink. Dirt on baseboards. I can go on. A little extra cleaning and maintenance can help this property a lot. But if no repairs are going to be done then we shouldn’t be charged so much. Lastly if you want good parking you need to get back to the hotel before night time. If not you would have to park a block away at sister hotel. The access to beach was great and the pool area was great as well.

Great ocean location! Looking for beach this is it

If you’re looking for the beach this is the place! Very old hotel not fancy but clean! There was no elevator and our room was on the 3rd floor!

Mariner Inn was older but very clean and well kept. The staff were very friendly. Our air unit started leaking and they were quick to respond and fix it. We stayed in a suite across the road from the main building. It was a short walk to breakfast, the beach and the pool. Although, it felt longer to us with four younger kids. The breakfast was not our favorite but that's personal preference. It had a couple hot selections (eggs, pancakes, biscuit, gravy & sausage), cereal and breads. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. Overall great hotel and would stay there again.

Clean rooms and courteous staff.

Clean but we were there three nights and our trash was not emptied or towels not traded out. The night before we checked out we requested more washcloths and mentioned about the trash. We were told they only enteted the rooms upon request. No frills which is fine with me but would have liked to have been advised earlier. Overall good and clean. Staff was very helpful and courteous.

Older hotel. It needs some updates. Room was clean. Free breakfast was ok. Very basic. Probably would not stay here again. Pool was kind of small. Not enough outlets to plug in. The in room coffee pot had not place to plug it into. You would have to take the coffee maker to the sink.
