Interesting excursion destinations are nearby: because Flensburg and Sønderborg are within reach. You can also go for a hike or a mountain bike tour on the Gendarmstien trail. The popular hiking trail "Gendarmstien" of 84 km passes directly by the house. This coastal hiking route is divided into five stages: the mountain stage, the brick stage, the power stage, the beach stage and the mill stage. Each stage winds along the shores of the fjord, offering a varied and sometimes hilly landscape. Along the trail, you will have ample opportunity to see rare plants and animals, as well as many interesting biotopes and landscapes ranging from orchids, frogs and birds to tunnel valleys, cliffs and stone reefs. At the same time you can explore the history and the many myths and legends related to the Gendarme Trail and the Borderland.
