There is a children's playground on the lakefront of Kuratau, which is a great place for the kids to let loose and burn some energy. Take the time to walk the tracks within the ancient Pureora rainforest, the views are outstanding and it is well worth the trek.

Visit the Kuratau River Wines restaurant for a delicious meal and locally sourced wine. If you are craving adventure, Mt Ruapehu and the Whakapapa ski fields are only a 50-minute drive down the road. Or if you are looking for a retail therapy day, Taupo town centre is an hour drive away.
