The hotel requires access code to enter the building and room which is very convenient. There was lineup in check-in to scan passport/pay city tax. If the hotel allow clients to upload the info and include the city tax in the room payment, it will make the check-in process automatically and conveniently.

Great location, walking distance from Kyoto station. Clean room, friendly staff. Staff is not there all the time so you might need to do a self check in/out on a kiosk.

Overall the hotel was good for the money. We found getting into the hotel a bit fiddly since we had a key code and the keypad was electronic so you had to hold your hand over and then start pressing the buttons. This was also the case for the door for the room which was also all electronic meaning it was fairly noisy when it locked. It also meant you could accidentally leave the lights on when leaving the room since it wasn’t keycard operated. I’d prefer a keycard operated door for the rooms. There sometimes weren’t any staff on the desk and sometimes the staff didn’t look up as we entered. The luggage storage situation is limited and there isn’t a luggage room, it’s in the entrance and you have to padlock your suitcase on. The luggage spots got filled up by the end of the day. The hotel also don’t offer luggage forwarding. It was in a good location however with restaurants and convenience stores nearby as well as near Kyoto station.
