We failed to receive a confirmation on our booking so assuming the booking didn’t go through we booked another one. Once arriving at the hotel we were told we had two rooms booked and had to pay for both. The hotel refused to refund us our money on the second one.

It was clean, the staff was helpful, the grounds were immaculately kept up, and the jungle was all around you. But it was still a little odd. It was kind of like staying in a Minecraft luxury hotel room however it was very private and lovely.

The Hotel del Rio was absolutely amazing. The staff was super helpful in all regards from event planning to dining to recommendations on sights to see etc. The rooms were very clean and modern. Every morning they asked about whether we wanted service or not. The on site amenities were very diverse from sports to spas. Even our kids did not get bored. Lots of trails for walking. The rooms were very private as well, I am not sure I saw or heard another guest except for at the restaurant. Would recommend to anyone and would stay there again if in the area. One of the best places we have stayed on vacation.

What a fantastic place to stay in La Fortuna! The staff was fantastic day after day, the location was beautiful (particularly the view from our room), and it was well located for venturing out to various excursions. Would love to stay there again!

This is a beautiful resort property and our room was spacious, modern and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the balcony and waking up to the sound of birds and the nearby river. The restaurant is excellent for dinner as well as breakfast. It’s a bit out from the center of town but an easy taxi away.

Staff was courteous and attentive. The grounds are beautiful and the entire complex is gated so you are totally safe. The amenities are well maintained. My kids loved the availability of the soccer pitch, basketball court and gym. We even played a round of tennis. The room(cabin) was clean and comfy. The private jacuzzi on our private deck surrounded by rainforest was a great feature. The layout provided plenty of privacy. The restaurant staff were great and the food was delicious, even for my picky teenagers. The location is just outside of down town so you are just a few minutes by taxi and plenty of options for adventures that pick you up at the hotel. Definitely would recommend!

It’s a great place. We had fun times. Breakfast is awesome. The room are spacious. It has all individual type room so it makes it more cozy. There is a huge shower and separate bathroom so the family can speed up. It also had a king large bed. The place itself had a good out of trees and at the night they had a good lighting. It makes made it very special. We also did a spa and had a great time.

Free breakfast has limited choices, but still good food. The service on our last day there wasn’t the greatest, not sure why. The rooms are clean but had very lukewarm showers-when it’s raining so much a warm shower is appreciated. The hot tub was lukewarm and we would be chilled sitting in it. Again, when it’s raining an it’s nice to sit in a hot tub. Otherwise, clean, great location, nice views at the restaurant. The service started good at the restaurant and then went down hill.
