Casa Torote, La Ventana

Casa Torote is design, comfort & adventure in a beautiful layback beach house in La Ventana. Just a short walk to the beach, steps away from a fully stock supermarket, artisanal coffee shop, restaurants, bars and more. Enjoy breakfast with stunning views, relax, swim, snorkel, paddle, get fish tacos, kitesurf, bike, have a BBQ, and gather around the fire pit or heated pool.

Casa Torote includes a two-stories main house with 2 bedrooms and a small guest house with 1 bedroom. In addition, there is a sofa bed and a futon. This will allow to sleep 6 people in beds and up to 2-4 additional people in sofa beds.

The common areas include a beautiful palapa-covered grill & bar, a heated pool (4-ft deep), a fire pit in the 2nd floor deck, and a hot tub ONLY available during mid-November to mid-March. The palapa is a great area to socialize and have BBQs as it counts with lots of counter space, a large charcoal grill, a half bathroom, a changing room, an outdoor shower, and a drying lines rack for your wetsuits and gear. Hot tub can be available during the warmer months per request (March to mid-November), with an extra fee.

The main house is modern, spacious, tastefully appointed and well equipped. It has high ceilings with many windows to enjoy the views. The main floor features an open kitchen / living room area with a half bathroom for guests. The guest bedroom is on the main floor. The living room has a convertible bed that can comfortably fit 2 kids or 1 adult. The main bedroom is on the second floor and is only accessible via the outdoor stairs. Guests who stay in the upstairs bedroom will wake up to a breathtaking sunrise over the ocean from your bed!

The casita is a studio concept with a spacious feel that includes a small front deck, living room, kitchen with a dual-purpose center island (cooking and dining), a bedroom, closet, and full bathroom (no tub).

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:

Kiters & Wing foilers: There are two launch spots within a 5 and 10-minutes' walk. The closer launch point is only recommended for intermediate and experienced kiters, and for experienced wing foilers.

Noise at night: Although the town is usually "sleepy" by 9 pm, be aware that occasionally people drive around proud of their music. It is part of their culture, so we can only say welcome to Baja, Mexico! But don't worry, you'll get used to it. But if you are sensitive to noise at night, a couple of earplugs will take care of it.

Small town infrastructure: This is small town in Baja Mexico, where infrastructure is not the best. Power outages and infrastructure failures are not uncommon and are out of our control. The environment is harsh on things and will wear and deteriorate things fast. We don't offer refunds for things out of our control or if the home is out of a feature for 1-2 days.

Perfect for a small group

Great location

Location couldn’t have been any better near bars, restaurants, two coffee shops, and a market. Short easy walk to the beach. There are three separate suites which worked out well for two couples and a single.

Perfect stay!

The place was amazing, we thoroughly enjoyed the time there. Very comfortable, excellent kitchen. The best bed is upstairs, the downstairs room is the coolest and quietest. The casita was a perfect for our 2 older adultish sons. We loved our time. Thank you!

Another great stay at Casa Torote

This was our second stay at the Casa Torote. As before, our stay at the house was wonderful. The host Memo was very responsive with the early check in and late check out request. The property itself was immaculate and in a great location. Although we just came back from our vacation we are looking forward to our next adventure in Casa Torote and El Sargento. Thank you again.

Excellent location, wonderful owners and unbeatable value!

We had a great stay at Casa Torote! The house is new, very clean and had all the amenities we needed for a successful fishing trip. The palapa was great for hanging out in the evenings and the pool was kept clean during our week there. We initially had issues with the internet which the property managers addressed immediately. The owners and management obviously pay close attention to important details and I would definitely consider staying here again in the future!

We really enjoyed the property. I don't think it should be advertised for up to 9 people. It really sleeps 6 (3 queen beds) , with possibly 1 person on a pullout couch. Alsp, it eould be helpful if there were a few more loynge chairs by the poil.It could use.

Baja Utopia

This was our first VRBO stay in El Sargento and we feel like we found our home away from home. The house has three very private bedrooms (one is a stand alone casita/studio) with three private baths. The outdoor pool/kitchen has a bathroom that can be shared. It's perfect for 3 couples who want to hang out together but still have privacy. Memo is an amazing and very responsive host. The beds are super comfy, the linens are great, the pool and hot tub are perfectly heated, and the kitchen has everything you desire. And we couldn't wait for the sun to rise every morning - spectacular views! We've already booked our stay again next year.

Splendid casa and surroundings

With eight people in our party, we needed space to spread out but also space to gather together. Casa Torote did not disappoint! From the pool to the palapa grill area and outdoor seating to the upper deck with the gas fireplace/firepit, we had more than enough space to enjoy the beauty of this seaside accommodation and watch the spectacular sunrises. The ocean view is gorgeous! Practically, the kitchen is well equipped with cooking pots and pans and enough dishes and silverware as well as drink making paraphernalia. Fridge, dishwasher, stove and oven worked well. Having four bathrooms in the compound is convenient. The beds were comfortable. There were maintenance issues that were easily taken care of. Memo and Marcos were responsive to our requests. Our party made warm Christmas memories in La Ventana. We highly recommend the place!

Great group accommodations!

The pool and outside area was set up amazing for hanging out. The house accommodations were great that we all had our own area, but we were close enough to still all be together. The walk was close to coffee, store and restaurant. We had a great time.

Awesome basecamp

We loved our stay in Casa Torote. Our family of four was very comfortable in the large house and our friends stayed in the casita. The beach was a close walk which was convenient to start/end downwinders. The house and pool were fantastic and we loved evenings around the fire on the top balcony. Our mornings were often started early by the neighbor's rooster....but that's baja! We had some issues with the house and the owners took the notices very seriously and seemed eager to fix anything that needed attention. We highly recommend Casa Torote.

Nice modern place.

Excellent accommodations with private compound and great indoor and outdoor gathering areas. Separate sleeping quarter arrangements worked well for our group. We usually kited the local beach a five minute walk away. Sometimes we wanted to bring extra gear to the beach, and we drove down onto the beach the first day and barely made it back up with our 2wd rental. After that we parked it at the the top of the grade 100 yards up from the beach.

We love Casa Torote!

Our stay at Casa Torote was excellent. It’s a beautiful designed home with plenty of space and nice amenities. The pool and outdoor palapa with grill was our favorite, and we can’t wait to come back.

Would return.

Everything was great but for a couple of minor things. The pool hadn't been cleaned and they came over pretty quickly and cleaned it when we requested a skimmer so we could do it ourselves. They could also use a new pool cover. The one they have is falling apart. That said we enjoyed our time there and would return ourselves and recommend it to others.

Great La Ventana Location

A great place to stay, especially if you kite. Even if you don't or if the wind is not blowing, the pool and close beach access provides ample swimming opportunities.

Convenient location with a great pool

The house has an awesome layout for 3 couples. Each bedroom has it's own en suite and are detached from each other (upstairs does not connect to the main floor from the inside and third room is the casita). It would be a very tight fit to try to put 8 people up at the property unless you're all good friends. The property manager was super super responsive, particularly considering it was the holidays (thanks again!) We opted to heat the pool for most of our stay and it was well worth it, made those low wind days extra relaxing. The house is right next to oscaritos so grabbing a few extra beers or groceries is very easy. Would stay here again.

The house is very well equipped, it has everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, the pool is wonderful and the rooms are very comfortable. THE AC was wonderful. Very convenient location with a market at the end of the street and a 2 minute drive to Palapas Ventana.

La Ventana sweet spot

Loved La Ventana and surrounding areas. Home is conveniently located with very sweet casita that accompanies home. Weather was very warm so pool was very warm as well. All in all a nice home and location.

Fantastic place!

Not sure I want to leave a good review as I want to be able to rent the house again! The view from the upstairs bedroom was incredible and the heated pool was hard to keep my 3 year old out of! You can tell the owners went the extra mile with detail from the palapa with the charcoal grill to the heated pool and the upstairs fire pit. We really enjoyed our stay!
