Very outdated, we got a suite & the room was old & had a smell, the bathroom was the worst. Bed could have been better, very uncomfortable.

The hotel is ok, it’s an old building they tried to do surface updates too but they were done poorly. Our tub/shower had chunks of paint peeling off the bottom of it. Carpet looked dirty, grout dirty etc

Spa Tub Letdown: Disappointing Work Trip

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Lafayette on a work trip. As two ladies looking for some relaxation, we booked separate spa tub rooms. To be sure our booking was correct, I called immediately after reserving (and believe I spoke with a manager) to confirm the spa tub room. Yet, upon arrival, we learned our rooms had been given to another reservation. After speaking with a manager, the clerk returned with news that our spa tub rooms were finally available. Unfortunately, both rooms had the same issue: each spa tub had a crack in the bottom and only one of the three control buttons—albeit the one controlling the jets—was present. It raises the question: why offer spa tub rooms when the tubs aren’t in proper working order? Breakfast was served hot and was generally standard. Although the pancake station ran out of batter, it was promptly refilled when requested. Tea options were limited to just two varieties, but there was plenty of coffee. While the staff were friendly, the building desperately needs updates and more thorough cleaning, as debris still lingered around the sofa and furniture edges. The TV system was outdated too, offering only local cable channels without movie options or compatibility with personal subscription services. Overall, despite some helpful staff, the mishandled reservation and maintenance issues left us disappointed in what should have been a relaxing retreat.
