• A 600-pound ice maker - especially appreciated by fishing and hunting groups
• A fully equipped chef’s kitchen with quality cutlery and an excellent cast-iron collection
• A Big Green Egg, Weber grill, and large barrel smoker
• Thick foam mattress toppers and comfortable pillows on every bed

SLEEPS UP TO EIGHT GUESTS
Calcasieu Lake Lodge comfortably accommodates up to eight guests, with sleeping spaces that work well for families, couples, hunting parties, and fishing groups.
The private primary suite is located on the east side of the lodge and features a comfortable king-size bed, two closets, luggage racks, and its own full bathroom. It is a welcoming place to rest after an early morning hunt, a full day of fishing, or an evening out in Lake Charles.
The junior bunkroom includes a cozy twin bunk bed, two closets, and a luggage rack to help keep clothing and outdoor gear organized. Quiet and comfortable throughout the year, it is an ideal space for children or additional guests.
Located on the southwest side of the lodge, the spacious main bunkroom is separated from the living area by rustic sliding barn doors for added privacy. It features a full-over-full bunk bed and a separate twin bed, along with a private full bathroom and an attached laundry room - especially convenient after a day spent outdoors.

RELAX, GATHER AND STAY AWHILE
The comfortable living room is furnished with an oversized leather sofa and two reclining chairs, providing plenty of room for your group to unwind. Watch the big game on the large wall-mounted television, enjoy a family movie night, share stories from the day, or settle in for a well-earned afternoon nap.
The large screened-in porch is another favorite gathering place. Enjoy your morning coffee, relax after a day on the lake, or spend a quiet evening taking in the peaceful country surroundings.

A KITCHEN MADE FOR GATHERING
The chef’s kitchen is one of the highlights of Calcasieu Lake Lodge. Thoughtfully organized and fully equipped, it features a gas cooktop, quality cutlery, cast-iron cookware, and the essentials needed to prepare everything from an early breakfast to a traditional South Louisiana feast.
The kitchen also overlooks the pond and much of the surrounding acreage, offering one of the best views on the property while you cook, dine, and spend time together.

FISHING AT THE LODGE AND ON BIG LAKE
Fishing is an important part of the Calcasieu Lake Lodge experience. Our private stocked pond features a healthy population of bass and bluegill maintained on a feeding program. A small dock provides a peaceful place to fish, picnic, sip a glass of wine, or watch the sunset. Bring your favorite rod—and your fly rod if you have one—and enjoy fishing just steps from the lodge.
Calcasieu Lake is only a stone’s throw from the property and is known for excellent speckled trout, redfish, and flounder fishing. Hebert’s Landing and its public boat launch are less than one mile away, making it easy to get an early start on the water.
The lodge is also located across the lake from Hackberry, giving guests convenient access to fishing guides and charter opportunities throughout the Big Lake area. Referrals for bay fishing, bass fishing, boat rentals, and other outdoor experiences are available upon request.

WATERFOWL HUNTING AND OUTDOOR ADVENTURES
Calcasieu Lake Lodge makes a comfortable home base for waterfowl hunters exploring Cameron Parish and the surrounding marshlands. Return after the hunt to plenty of ice, a warm meal, comfortable beds, laundry access, and room for the group to relax.
We are happy to provide referrals for guided hunting, fishing, bird-watching, and other outdoor adventures. The nearby Cameron Prairie National Wildlife Refuge also offers opportunities to experience the wildlife, wetlands, and natural beauty of Southwest Louisiana.

CAJUN FOOD AND LOCAL FLAVOR
No trip to South Louisiana is complete without memorable food. With advance notice, authentic Cajun dishes - including gumbo, jambalaya, étouffée, and pistolettes - may be arranged for delivery directly to the lodge. A minimum of two weeks’ notice is requested to help guarantee availability.
Guests can also use the lodge’s fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grills to prepare their own catch, host a group cookout, or enjoy a relaxed dinner overlooking the pond.

COUNTRY PEACE NEAR LAKE CHARLES
Calcasieu Lake Lodge offers the best of both worlds: the privacy and slower pace of a country retreat with convenient access to Lake Charles.
Spend the day shopping, golfing, dining, or exploring the area, then enjoy an evening at the casinos or local entertainment venues. When the night is over, leave the city activity behind and return to the peace of the lodge, where you can relax beneath the stars and wake up surrounded by quiet acreage.

EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING was perfect. Jim ensured all was well and was available if we needed anything. The property was immaculate inside and out. Easy parking for two boats, 3 minutes to the ramp. A perfect place to return to after a long day on the water. We will be back!

Post Thanksgiving Birthday Family Retreat

This place was just what we wanted. Remote but with easy access, land to explore, games to play, rocking chairs for reading, a roomy and accommodating kitchen, and even a television to aid in a nap. We aren’t sportsmen but it didn’t matter. The rustic warmth of the house was enough to make us feel like we just returned from a successful hunt. We played bird games, drank cocoa (prepared on the large stove), ate ice cream, and rallied together with family and friends to bring in the holiday season. “A post Thanksgiving birthday getaway at the camp” could be a new family tradition as the host was so accommodating and extremely prompt on communication. We wanted for nothing and were able to relax…and rock (on the porch)…in a chair.

Okay for any outdoorsy family that needs a getaway.

Overall it was okay. We made the best out of the giving situation. Upon arrival it was noticed right away that the cleanliness was lacking. Think dust layer on all surfaces, bits and bugs on floor, inside icebox sleeves had some dried up food/liquid on them. Something was left in disposal that made the house smell terrible when running the water. We cleaned enough to continue the stay. Owner refunded our cleaning fee only to get blamed for leaving it dirty. I didnt know we were expected to clean before leaving. Living room fan didnt work and most closet doors were broke. Other then that it was good and I do suspect that they will rectify the issues as they seemed to appreciate the feedback. I will end the review by saying if your looking for some good pond fishing, try it out.

Relaxing in the Country

Great cabin very clean, comfortable beds, kitchen had everything necessary for cooking and we loved the outside area. Porches all around, comfortable rockers and the pond so well kept easy to fish or just sit on the deck and watch the turtles. Jim answered all questions immediately and was very accommodating!! Thanks for a great weekend to visit with family. Also so appreciate that our two dogs were welcome!

Relaxing Lodge

This is a nice lodge. We enjoyed that it was out in the country and quiet. The kids loved fishing in the pond- even if we only caught one fish. The house is a bit dark inside due to the porch covers- doesn’t let a lot of light in- and the lights in the house are a bit dim. One bedroom has sliding barn doors which don’t quite cover the entire door opening which was a little issue for noise in the morning if someone was still sleeping in that room. There are only 4 chairs for the dining room table but there are bar stools. We made due with those when we wanted to play games all together. The beds are comfy. The porch is wonderful to sit out on in the morning to overlook the lake or have a drink in the evening in the screened in area. It’s very peaceful out there and we had a great time together as a family. THANK YOU!
