Beautiful and comfortable house right by the river with amazing views. Perfect location, just minutes from Chimney Rock Park. We really enjoyed our stay!
The property was very clean and nice. We got a little lost getting to the property and the road is up is quite steep and narrow so just keep that in mind when driving up. The ProsThe property was nicely adorned and cozy. We appreciated the deck which had a gate so our dog could run around on it. The views were also amazing. Our boys had a great time on the nature trail and going in the creek with our dog. Also, fishing at the pier was nice even though we didn't catch anything. We found a great local coffee spot at Grey Hawk and dinner at The Lake House Restaurant was good. The ConsThe property was big enough for the 6 of us that went but it was smaller than anticipated based on the pictures. The king bed was extremely firm. However the other beds were nice. The main dining area is a bar height table for 4 so that made meal times a little challenging. Also, the dishwasher broke (which the owners responded to quickly but were unable to fix during our stay. Also, we did have a close encounter with a mama bear and two cubs right off the front porch so be aware and come prepared!Overall we enjoyed our stay and we commented regularly that the views would be amazing in the fall! Lake Lure is on its way back and you should definitely go visit!
We love Lake Lure and had fond memories with family so wanted to return to support the area. We found this beautiful cozy log cabin listed to sleep 12 and our group was only 8. However seating in the living room and eating area was for 5-6 each. Also It wasnât clear to us at first glance it listed 4 bedrooms and 4 queen size beds, but a drop-down menu clarified Itâs a queen sleeper sofa, we drew short straw, and Iâm not sleeping on a sleeper sofa, so we chose the bunkbeds In this downstairs common room, I wouldnât call it a bedroom because you have to go through the the other downstairs bedroom to use the bathroom. Know that all 3 bathrooms were tubs and had slippery surfaces! One of our guests fell in the tub. Only one bedroom on the main level so thereâs stairs either way and theyâre fairly steep. Two families with a couple kids might have been fine here, but this is not suitable for for 4 couples. One of the railings on the front porch was loose. BYO TP!!! âStarterâ was bare minimum basically about 2 partial rolls per bathroom. there is a long gravel drive to get to the property and itâs listed on Swansway but thereâs also a west Swansway some GPS services listed it as east and west. Also didnât understand the procedure at the gate, tried to punch in a code that was to a phone number that went to voicemail and the gate attendant didnât seem to know what to do. No cell at that time so couldnât Go back to Find address or send a message she just let us in. Not for us!
We had wonderful time spending our Thanksgiving holydays in this property. We would really like to thank our host Mrs. Liz for convincing us to come when we were having second thoughts as we thought that the area and property were damaged by the hurricane Helen. The house is very convenient at all 3 levels and views are amazing. We would highly recommend this property for families (including 4 legged members đ) who would like to enjoy the beautiful nature NC has to offer.
The house was nice. I would not call it spacious and was bit cramped for all 8 of us to be in the main living room together - but there is a game room downstairs. There was indoor dining seating for only 4, then a picnic table on the deck. The view was beautiful. The couch was comfortable. The king bed was very firm and the upstairs queen was soft - both good. The kitchen had the very basics. Internet was not working when we were there, it was fine for us but just FYI if internet is needed.
Roads are all gravel. Nice distance between cabins.
Communication before we went was not good as I was unable to reach anyone to have an over the phone conversation over the course of a couple weeks. I wanted to discuss a few things since the hurricane. While we were there communication was fine.
Our stay at the cabin on Swans Way was wonderful. The cabin was so cozy yet spacious enough for 3 familyâs to spread out on three levels. It was close to a nice private beach that had a shallow end for the children to play in and also a dock to jump off of for the older kids/adults. We enjoyed using the canoe and kayak that the cabin provided, we enjoyed the soothing sound of the river below the cabin while drinking coffee in the mornings and grilling out in the evenings on the back deck. House was very clean and offered books and games. The hill behind the cabin is too steep to walk down to the river but there were multiple accesses near the cabin to enter the river. The owners were very responsive. Conveniently located near lake lure and chimney rock. We would happily stay at this location again!
This cabin is highly advertised as 4 bedroom cabin that sleeps 12. I was under the impression that there were 4 "private bedrooms" but this was not the case.
There are 3 legitimate master bedrooms and the "4th bedroom" is an open common area with sleeping furniture.
This caused an issue with the sleeping situation with my family because some required special needs and their own private room.
I think it's fair to call this a 3 bedroom cabin and is wrongly advertised as a 4 bedroom.
As noted in the final line of the very lengthy description, this cabin can sleep 12 but only if an air mattress is used.
I was under the assumption that there were 4 private bedrooms that could possibly sleep 12.
We had a total of 9 people. When I inquired about how this cabin sleeps 12, I received a rude response from the owner:
"U don't need to sleep 12 but just spending the time texting to inquire?"
Great customer service for a paying customer right ??? :)
A couple of days later, I messaged the owner to use the complementary life jackets and canoe paddles to use at the beach. The owner did say they would drop them off but that never happened.
Outside of those surprises, the cabin does provide beautiful views of the mountains, nearby walking trails and great beach.
We made the best of the trip but will no longer book any rentals advertised or owned by this group.
A lovely multi-night stay. The view from the rear balconies are beautiful and very relaxing. A spacious cabin (kind of like a TARDISâ much larger on the inside than it appears on the outside). The property managers were very responsive and helpful.
Nice rustic cabin for Spring Break getaway! We had a great time exploring the area, fishing the lake and river. The cabin was perfect size for family. The cabin did need a another set of silverware and bathroom towels otherwise you are constantly washing. The ladybugs also must have liked the cabin because they seemed to have made it their hatching ground in the basement level!
Perfect setup for a family needing separation of space for sleeping and relaxing. We enjoyed the trail down by the lake to see a small waterfall. It didn't come with a firepit as expected or paddles for the small kayaks. I did request both prior to arrival. Be sure to pay attn to the directions given by the host prior to check in. We had to go buy toilet paper but not a big deal. We just happened to bring our own paper goods just in case but didn't bring that. There is a Dollar General and Ingles close by for food. We brought our own from FL. Well stocked kitchen and house. Lots of seating, inside and outside. The house backside is on a steep incline that looks west for sunsets. Very close to Burntshirt Winery Restaurant and an amazing Italian Ristorante in Chimney Rock. Host is very responsive. We enjoyed our stay.
This cabin is in a gorgeous location, nestled in the woods. Community amenities were exactly what we expected- plenty of spots to fish, two areas to swim, grills, pavilions, etc. Mirror Lake offered gorgeous views of the mountains. We drove to Mirror Lake each day since the walk is far for kids and steep.
There were a few hiccups with the sleeping arrangements but the owner rectified the issue. Bottom floor accommodated adults and kids for one family. The other family slept on the ground floor and upstairs. Not a huge kitchen. Would suggest bringing some paper goods and storage containers if you plan to cook a lot.
Overall, we had a wonderful vacation and would stay in the area again for sure.
This is a beautiful home and perfectly laid out for multiple families. Each family had their own floor. The cabin is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The decks overlooking the river is where we ate all of our meals enjoying the view. The cabin is minutes away from a few nice restaurants and close to the quaint town of Chimney Rock.
