This is a beautiful cottage in a quaint area. We used it as a base to visit parts of NIR to the north (Rope Bridge in Carrick-a-Rede and Giants Causeway) and south (Dobbins, train to Belfast). A short walk to the nearby Spar was great for morning coffee and snacks. We also had dinner at the Ballygally Castle Hotel (walkable) and started our GOT Journey of Doors there (if youâre a fan of the show look this up). It was a bit cold when we were visiting but thereâs also a nice beach area if thatâs your thing.
Overall it was a great experience but coming from the US some clearer instructions from the host would have been helpful to help avoid confusion (emailed a few times which thankfully were answered promptly enough to not cause a huge issue). We had some problems with understanding how hot water for the showers worked (the switch in the directions refers to a pull switch in the ceiling - which wasnât obvious ). The plumbing is old and a bit tricky which was disclosed but sometimes created uncertainty in confidence in using the toilet (hoping it would flush everything away). And if itâs cold just switch the thermostat to 24-hours instead of assuming the timed settings will work for you (it was rather chilly in the place until we figured this out on our own). But these minor issues were overshadowed by the gorgeous views from the sitting room, comfy beds, decent space, and the convenience of the cottage location. Highly recommended (moreso if my advice here helps).
