Felt very embarrassed at check in. Could not understand what they were saying. "We need a dollar to register your card". Had no idea what they were talking about. I stated "I had no idea what they were talking about". Tried to give them a dollar coin, then five dollar note. Still no progress, this went on for several times, her supervisor stepped in, still no idea what they were on about. Finally, one of them said "We need to swipe you card for one dollar to confirm its validity, you will get it back at check out." Finally, progress. At check out, no return of dollar but a ten dollar bill for parking, duly paid. If I hadn't pre paid, I would have walked out at check in. NEVER WILL I GO BACK TO GRAND CHANCELLOR. Score of 0. Still waiting for my dollar, its not the monetary value but the principle. In fact, new score of -10.

We loved the buffet breakfast, the food served and the staff assistance. The room is spacious. Having a laundry area is very helpful especially the free use of the dryer. The only 2 things we can think of for improvement are, the fish cake and beef lasagne: their taste could be improved so the taste of the fish can be savoured and the lasagne’s beef can also be tasted and not too much of the sauce. The other comment is that the room could may well have USB or USC points to charge our electronic devices. Otherwise, staff service and the rest are amazing. We will be back since the CBD is just around the corner from the hotel. Thanks heaps, Grand Chancellor Staff!

Not a bad stay for one night

I don’t mind staying here when I’m in Launceston. I had a room near the lift and was surprised we weren’t bothered by the lift but we did hear the person next to us constantly opening and closing a cupboard door until 11pm. Other than that it was a good stay and I thought the shower was good.
