Explore the mining history of the Fife villages and visit the nearby Lochore Meadows Country Park for some sailing, rowing or a walk round the nature reserve. There are mountain bike trails and Scotlandâs only cycling circuit is situated 5 mins drive from the house. Venture into Kirkcaldy for a walk round the Links Market when itâs on, or head to Burntisland or St Andrews for a day at the beach or perhaps a round of golf. A stoneâs throw (well maybe 2 stone throws) away is Lochgelly train station providing services through the country, with Edinburgh only 40 minutes away.
There was parking in front of the apartment, and the neighbor was extremely helpful and nice. The apartment is well furnished and the location to convenience stores for food and the train station were super simple. My family had a great time and would recommend.
Had to contact host an hour before arrival for check in details and no hot water or heating when I arrive even though the book stated it would be turned on. This was solved with a call to the service number. House was large and clean although upstairs did have a smell. Heating worked well and washing machine and airer were a handy addition. Kitchen was good and stocked with what we needed. Property about 45 mins drive from Edinburgh and train station was close. Small shops 5 mins away by car. Beds linens and towels were very clean
We enjoyed staying at this property during our first trip to Scotland. The location was good - because we had a rental car, we spend one day exploring Edinburgh and the remaining 3 days we focused on more rural/small town/nature exploration. Because of that, the property's location was a good "base" to do our day trips from. We did Queens View, Pitolchry and a few other destinations.
The house was clean, comfortable, the location of the property is very quiet, there are no buildings on the 'entrance" side of the property, can just see hills and fields from the window, so we could relax. The house was clean, beds comfortable. Overall we had a great stay.
Pleasantly surprised upon entering house. The home was very clean and linens/beds ready for use. The location is excellent for activities slightly north of Edinburgh. The walking trail across the street even offers some historical plaques about the area! Quiet neighborhood.
