Really enjoyed our stay at The Grey Gull Hotel. The hotel is a little dated in places, but our room was clean and spacious with a nicely renovated bathroom. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, including with our dog. Food was tasty and reasonably priced too. Great value for money and we’d stay again.

We stayed in the sauna room which was recently refurbished, staff were incredibly rude and inattentive, food was microwaved ready meal at best. The room itself was fine, shower was broken. The sauna was nice although it smelled incredibly unclean. I definitely would not recommend staying here. 0 atmosphere either. Also the hot tub was broken which was not communicated to us until we arrived honestly AVOID.

Our Dog was welcomed. Very friendly and approachable staff, our room was as expected clean and exactly what we required as being disabled, on the ground floor and a walk in shower. We had no problems getting there, and being there, staff were excellent and attentive, Especially Gavin GM. Dale HM, and Pete the Executive Chef. Other staff were friendly and helpful too. We had a great stay.

Staircase to rooms leaves a lot to be desired. Very old and dirty. The room was very small, claustrophobic! Terrible smell from the carpet (old dog smell) kept me awake at night despite the window wide open. Breakfast was poor. Low quality products not well cooked. The setting is beautiful but sadly the standard of upkeep outside and in does not do the area justice. On a positive note the staff were very nice and helpful and restaurant dinner was lovely.

Really run down. In our room, the shower attachment distinegrated, the bathroom fan did not work, the toilet seat was broken, the electric face plate for the towel rail was smashed, the bathroom door had had 2 big holes filled, the carpet was stained. The entire hotel is run down and needs a full refurbishment. Outside, the beer garden has a fake rolled out lawn, cut badly around the edges with trip hazards. Avoid the restaurant. I ordered steak pie and mash. What I got was some meat in a dish with a puff pastry lid placed on top, a spoonful of mash that looked like it had been sitting around and a splodge of over-boiled frozen vegetables.
