Sherman Oaks Retreat âą Pool + Hot Tub + Panoramic Views | Sleeps 16 | Oak Hills
High above Sherman Oaks, Oak Hills turns Los Angeles into the backdrop â with sweeping valley views, swaying palms, glowing sunsets, and a pool deck made for lingering. With 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and space to sleep 16, the home blends a private hillside setting with the kind of easy access that keeps LA within reach.
Out back, the view does most of the talking. The pool stretches toward the valley, surrounded by lounge seating, palm trees, and multiple places to sit back and take in the skyline. The cliffside hot tub is a true standout, especially at golden hour, when the city lights start to flicker below. Whether youâre swimming, grilling, sipping something cold by the patio, or gathering under the sunset, the outdoor space is built for groups who want their stay to feel like an event.
Inside, the home has a warm, original-family-home character with cabin-inspired touches, exposed wood ceilings, rustic dining furniture, and oversized windows that keep the views front and center. The large chefâs kitchen offers generous prep space, full-size appliances, and bar seating, making it easy to cook for a crowd or set out snacks between pool time and movie nights. Multiple living and dining areas give everyone room to spread out, while unique extras like a drum set and massage table add personality you wonât find in a standard hotel stay.
Five spacious bedrooms and 4 bathrooms make the layout ideal for families, friend groups, and extended stays. Most bedrooms feature king beds, and one flexible sleeping room includes a king bed plus a triple bunk with a full bed and two twins. Additional sofas and a sofa bed provide even more sleeping flexibility, bringing the total occupancy to 16. The home also includes 3 HDTVs with cable and internet TV, including NFL Channel and RedZone, so game days are covered.

Our roadtrip from Pleasanton with our family to celebrate high graduations with my 2 nieces ended in LA. The house was a prefect fit for all 14 of us. The view and sunsets were breathtaking! After long days at the beach and Universal Studios (a short 10 min drive) it was great to connect and relax together by the pool. So much room and space for everyone.
Plenty space for the amount of people needed. We were able to comfortably fit everyone. Supplies were available to us which was nice.
Small things about the house just made it not as enjoyable. Fridge did not make anything cold or freeze, the trash can step to open the trash didnât have a top on it so a couple of us scraped ourselves on the metal unknowingly. We spent money to heat up the pool but it wasnât as clean nor were there supplies to clean ourselves. One of the front rooms didnât have curtains so the women felt uncomfortable changing or sleeping.
We gave better ratings because we canât fault the host because we didnât reach out to them. We just felt it would have been a nuisance to have to have someone come for every little thing when we would barely be at the house.
Great location and views, but house could use some TLC. We had a group of friends staying for a long weekend in LA. Overall, we had a great time â the house has plenty of space for a group, the AC worked wonderfully, and the views from the house were amazing. The neighborhood was safe and quiet, and it was a great home base for our trip. That said, there were a number of maintenance issues that we wish we had known about before booking. The house has noticeable wear and tear and feels like a well-used rental property. The back rooms didnât have curtains, so the morning sunlight made it impossible to sleep in. One bathroom door didnât close, the shower was missing one of its doors, several chairs were lose and broken, the dishwasher wasnât secured, some outlets didnât work, there was a hole in the wall in one of the rooms and felt the pool could have been cleaner prior to our stay. Also seemed like the landscaping in the front of the house was unfinished for some time, which made the first impression a bit underwhelming.None of these items ruined our trip â we still enjoyed our time together â but it would have been helpful to know about them beforehand so we could set our expectations accordingly. It seems from past reviews that some of these issues have been present for a while, so hopefully they can be addressed soon, as this house has a lot of potential to be a great stay.
The house has good space, but the listing clearly relies on the pool and location. While the pool, hot tub, and outdoor area were excellent, the interior was very underwhelming. The dishwasher was not properly secured, causing the entire unit to tip forward when the rack was pulled out. We reported this and were told it was âfully operational,â but we chose not to use it. The kitchen was missing basic items such as measuring cups and spoons, the refrigerator was leaking, and there was only one pot holder. There were plenty of towels, but they were thin, old, and in poor condition, with visible wear and bald spots. The bedroom off the kitchen has a window-like opening into the kitchen that offers minimal privacy despite a thin shade. Noise travels easily, and the Wi-Fi router cord runs through this opening. The furnishings did not match the listing photos, the bed had no frame, and only half of the east-facing windows had shades, making the room extremely bright in the morning. Only one track light worked, and the attached bathroom had no outlets.Hot water was unreliable throughout the stay, particularly in the kitchen and front bathroom. A plumber was sent, but the issue persisted. The Jack-and-Jill bathroom had a damaged tub faucet and broken knobs; repairs lasted only one day. In the primary bathroom, there were exposed wires where a light fixture was missing. This property is marketed as luxury, but has significant issues and the overall experience was disappointing.
