The hotel itself is quite nice, but the neighborhood can feel unsafe at times due to a high population of unhoused folks, many of whom seem to be experiencing psychotic breaks. The hotel is also keyless which can be annoying to continually be punching numbers into the door and taking out your phone and opening the app to get inside the hotel. Consequently, not a lot of service from the staff either.

It was a great spacious, modern property, with very comfortable beds, the mattresses and pillows were fantastic. I liked the messaging system via the app, when I requested additional items, eg towels, pillows straight away it was commented on and brought to us. Only suggestion is the additional amentities that would be handy in the room, a small kettle, sharp knife, cutting board etc. The noise wasn't an issue, apart from one night the neigbouring room were really noisy and the sound came through to our rooms. Overall a great apartment for a number of people, ultra spacious and great that we could do washing while there.

Beautiful room and great location!

I enjoyed my stay at Sonder The Craftsman. The location was excellent and in good walking distance to food and coffee. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was more spacious than the photos. The appliances in the room are very convenient. It's practically a spacious studio apartment. I have two suggestion: add a vending machine for small snacks/beverages and place felt pads on the bottoms of the chairs to avoid scraping sounds. I will definitely stay here again!

My stay was fine aside from my oven not working. They said they were waiting on a part which means they knew it wasn't working before they put me in the room. This was inconvenient since I was there for a special occasion and planned on making a dinner for my mom's 70th birthday as opposed to spending $500 at a restaurant nearby. The Sonder did offer me 150 credit toward my next stay but who knows when and if that will ever happen. They should have taken it off the current stay in question. Learn from my mistake and have them credit your current stay when you have an issue. Also, parking is okay on weekdays in the back of the hotel, but during the weekend, the rear parking lot is packed and it's small.

Hidden Gem in DTLA

Neighborhood is definitely a little sketchy, but a few blocks t to one way or another than youre okay. Place was great, clean, and easy to access. Parking is limited to nearby parking lots, so expect to pay about $30 a night to park. I would definitely stay here again.

This was the CLEANEST hotel that I have ever stayed at. Even the base boards & behind the TV was incredibly clean. I love that they have an APP that you can use as your hotel key, or message the front desk. As a traveller coming outside the country, I was a little nervous staying in Downtown LA but I felt incredibly safe. The room itself was amazing with having the full kitchenette and I didn't hear much from other units. There was a time that another guest was blasting their music and I had message front desk. And they were incredibly responsive to it. Will be coming back for sure and will be looking for other Sonder locations.

My stay was great! I read reviews post booking and realized there is no on site parking. Thin walls; noisy downtown street. I didn’t find the noise to be too much of an issue -if you’d like to sleep in at all I’d keep that detail in mind. Walked around the block and was bombarded with homeless druggies. As a young female that wasn’t something I was comfortable with and had to find ways to avoid. The apartment itself was spacious, very clean, tidy and equipped with cooking utensils, cleaning supplies, and bathroom amenities. I appreciated the door and lobby security, as well as the several code locked entrances. I would stay here again solely for the price and homey feel, however I’d try harder to find a secure parking garage and bring someone with me to feel safer when leaving the building. Preparation is essential when staying here to ensure convenience. I lost my car several times while using paid public parking since I had to use a different lot each time lol. No complaints regarding the building itself -aside from parking-.
