Just got back from Sonesta and as a group with many teenagers and adult we loved the property, the beach and food options.

I called and emailed for connecting rooms (as we traveled with children); the manager refused to assist and acted as if he was doing us a favor by staying there. While checking in, there were multiple overheard complaints from other guests about the condition of their room, attitudes of staff, inability to have their family members on the same floor. There was not enough staff to handle the number of guest. 2 bartenders at the pool side bar for 420 full rooms. Some of the staff had attitudes, with some complaining that they are not paid well (or able to eat the food at the hotel), but expected to do the work of multiple people. My husband saw a roach in our room and 3 other rooms reported that they also saw roaches. The housekeeper did the bare minimum (not fully stocking towels or rags or cleaning the mirrors). The balcony slider was stuck and opened only slightly in our room. Another guest reported that their slider fell off and onto their son. Nothing was done to remedy by management... If you need adjoining rooms or travel with a group, you are rolling a dice by booking here. They are not keen on customer service AT ALL!!! Although I will not be returning to this hotel, I have to acknowledge the staff at the kids club. My children thoroughly enjoyed them and the activities (I'm not good with names, but I remember : Hailey and Bronx girl). I stayed at this resort during my trip to St. Martin and overall it was a really nice experience. The location was prime, super close to downtown and all the popular spots, including Maho Beach which was literally just a two-minute walk away. The room was clean and comfortable with fresh towels and everything in order. The swim-up bar was a great touch and the drinks were strong and well-made. I didn’t care much for the food though. The buffet and on-site restaurants weren’t really my style, but I already had off-resort dinner reservations planned since I usually don’t love all-inclusive food anyway. The beach access wasn’t my favorite either but that’s on me. I should’ve looked into that a bit more before booking. Still, the convenience, the vibe, and the overall stay made it worth it.

Resort was nice and clean overall however the staff was 90% rude. No common courtesy, no friendly faces, they pretty much looked over worked and hated their job. Many expected tips for rude service and I felt like they purposely made us wait long for no reason. It was midday and they decided to close the area where they made pizza, a guest in front of me asked what time will they reopen, the response was when we get to it. Another guest from my party didn't get there room until after 6pm which is way past check in time because there was no rooms available. Not sure if I would stay here again.

A little older, but overall a good resort. Decent food, we liked the Italian restaurant the best. The kids club was amazing, my daughter asked to go every evening. Poolside bar was really hard to get a drink at. Recommend getting a rental car, taxis are very expensive. The hotel has a parking garage that is $10 per day.

Beautiful resort. Was under the impression that all rooms would have a bar but when we got there was told it was only 9th and 10th floor and that was. An addition $249 and up per night. Didn’t really bother us because we just went to the numerous bars on the site. However the shower and bathroom could be cleaner. Like clean up the place better. The shower had a nice rainfall vibe but the glass door only covered half of the shower. Me and my husband had to put towels down and kept requesting for more towels because the entire floor was wet. Food was good and the people who worked there is very friendly. Great location there are bars and stores right across the street. The swim up bar was a vibe. Food and drinks always flowing. Put another shower door and tidy the bathroom some more and I will def be back !
