    Morris Hotel sucks

    The pictures on the hotel's & Expedia's website did not match the room we were given. Rooms were dirty with old furniture. Bedsheets were stained & contained body hair. We asked for another room which was the same. When we told the desk we were heading to another hotel, they blocked the door so we could not leave and refused to call for a taxi.

    Stay Away unless you're a backpacker who gets an amazing deal.

    This was the worst hotel I have stayed at in a long time. Keep in mind that I stayed at hotels throughout Egypt, including Alexandria, Hurghada, Aswan, Cairo and Luxor. Considering the rate I paid for this hotel (only 10-20% less than the other hotels in Egypt), the place was a total rip-off. I'm actually very upset that Expedia would give this place a 4-star rating...this is a 2-star hotel at best. Below are some of the issues I had with this place: No computer records for guests. Didn't accept credit cards (had no way of processing them). Got to the room and there was no soap or shampoo, let alone other basic needs. The hotel doesn't provide shampoo even when you ask. The room smelled. The furniture was old and cheap. No lighting in the lobby...seemed like they were trying to save money on electricity. Check-in/Check-out was very long. It was by far the worst experience I've had while traveling and it set our mood for Luxor. Sometimes, when you have a long day, you can't wait to get back to the hotel to wind-down and relax. Absolutely not the case with this hotel. We couldn't wait to get out of that place to go around town.
