Smoky Mountain Retreat is a premier 1000 acre luxury log home community voted one of America's 10 best log home communities in the world. Paved, maintained roads lead you through breathtaking long range views of the Smoky Mountains, Lake Junaluska and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

‘Evergreen Escape’ features: 3 bedrooms/3.5 baths/2 car garage/2 balconies/gas fireplace/full basement as well as an upstairs loft/den for additional sleeping space/lounging. This cabin has wireless internet/satellite tv (including HBO/Showtime etc. & access to NETFLIX, HULU), granite kitchen w/ microwave/ coffee makers / appliances/dishes/large pantry; separate laundry room with full size washer/dryer/ironing board; fire pit for s'mores and large covered porches/balconies for viewing the mountains.

Hopefully this isn't posted to the app and is just seen by host and property owner as I am not the type of person to publicly share negative feedback. 1. We got in late and the sheets in master bedroom were not cleaned. We had to stay up for several hours laundering the sheets. Were dirty and had hair in them. Same with upstairs bunk bed. 2. Mops were left out on stairs. 3. Not enough supplies were provided such as trash bags, paper towels, etc. 4. There was a mouse or rat in the property that was getting into the trash and shredding paper with signs of nesting. 5. There was rodent or insect droppings inside of drawers with silverware, etc. that required cleaning everything prior to utilizing. 6. Closing directions requested that trash be brought down to the end of the road, but traveling families are loaded down with children and suitcases making transporting trash impossible. 7. Pillows extremely uncomfortable and should be replaced if older than 1 year. 8. Beautiful property and location; but lacking in cleanliness and hospitality.

Gorgeous cabin, gorgeous location.

We had the pleasure to spend a month at this beautiful cabin. It was very comfortable and is located in a heavily wooded, gated mountain community. Temps were typically 5 to 8 degrees cooler than Maggie Valley- a nice break from summer heat! The kitchen was awesome for those who like to cook. Outdoor gas grill was basically brand new. Upper and lower deck porches provide great views of the mountains. Close to Asheville, Waynesville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The host was very friendly and responded quickly to inquiries. There are two neighbors nearby, but both were quiet and also very friendly. We hope to return next year!

The Mountain Top

What a wonderful week we had on the mountain top!! The house was beautiful; the kitchen well stocked with pots, pans and dishes; and the views were breathtaking. We had lots of laughs, and many great memories were made inside those four walls. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Third time here!

Third time renting this property as it does not disappoint. Beautiful cabin with spectacular views and conveniently located. Easy drive to many locations including the Smoky Mountain Nat’l Park and Asheville. The charming town of Waynesville is only 10 to 15 mins away. After a day out exploring, this cabin with mountain theme decor is a pleasure to come back to - comfortably furnished, beautiful stone fireplace, well-stocked kitchen made for cooking, and porches with long range mountain views
. loved spending time on the swing in the mornings and evenings. Gated community has paved roads though be aware that you are near the top of the mountain so fog or inclement weather can make driving a little trickier, especially after dark. Just plan accordingly
.worth it for the views!

Beautiful home

Evergreen Escape was everything as presented. The home is beautifully decorated and the moment you walk in you feel a warm cozy feeling of home. The king size bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. My husband and I were the only ones there so we only used the main floor. The fall leaves put on a spectacular show for us. The owner of the home was very responsive and we would highly recommend this beautiful property for a short or extended stay.

Property was amazing ! Views from porch were so peaceful. House was well stocked and cleaned. Property owners were responsive to any questions. Loved the mountain location. Great paved roads, steep, but paved and easy for a mini-van. Loved the garage to load/unload. Thanks for sharing your home!

Perfect location for NC side of Smoky Mountains

This property is outstanding and the house layout was perfect. The ability to have a garage to bring in from long days of hiking before you get into the house was a big plus for us. We traveled with 4 adults and 2 teens. Plenty of space in the house for everyone to spread out and enjoy. Definitely plan a day for just the cabin as it is great. The Dining table is big enough for 6 people to comfortably sit and have a meal together, and the kitchen gets a lot praise for having enough space for multiple people to use at the same time. The property manager is very prompt in communications and attentive to questions. I will keep this place bookmarked for future plans too. Location is great as it is in Maggie Valley, but not in the city. 10 minutes to a Publix was amazing and the views are of the mountains! We were eager to explore the NC side of the Smokies so this was perfect, but it wasn't much more than an hour for the day we drove to Sugarland. 5 stars across the board.

Wonderful House

The house was very nice, clean and had everything you could possibly need (box fans, extension cords, fire roasting sticks, etc.). Due to the large snowstorm heading to the area and pretty steep drive to the cabin, we were not able to stay the whole time, but the property was great. The hosts were great at answering any questions we had.

Evergreen Soothes one’s soul

The cabin was beautiful inside and out and we had a great time at Evergreen cabin. We loved every minute of our stay thanks to the fireplace, balconies, quietness, Privacy, and the beautiful views from the cabins balconies. Being a gated community and feeling Safe was an Added benefit Especially with all of the hiking opportunities in Eagles nest. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to cook, Plus a Jen Air which was a real plus. While I loved our stay at Evergreen, there was one issue I felt necessary to mention. While I had no problem sleeping because I was sleeping alone, my husband slept in three different bedrooms before finding a comfortable mattress. On day four, he finally found the leather couch in the loft to be the most comfortable, and he slept there for the remainder of Our vacation at Evergreen. This was the reason for my rating of four rather than five. Would we come back to Evergreen at Eagles nest? Absolutely, if the mattresses are replaced And the trees trimmed back to improve the spectacular view.

Beautiful Cabin

This was the second stay at this property. The owner is very accessible for any questions or concerns. The kitchen was well equipped with everything that you need. The beds were comfortable. The fireplace made our stay warm and cozy. The location is close to restaurants. I highly recommend!

Beautiful views and great location. Views from the back porch are killer, if you love the pictures of the view you will be in heaven. Great location, a good starting point for whatever you decide to do. Shelly was friendly and accommodating throughout the process.

Beautiful Cabin in the Perfect Location!

This was our second visit to this beautiful property, and hopefully not our last! The cabin is gorgeous - beautifully furnished and fully stocked. The owner has anticipated every need, especially in the beautiful gourmet kitchen. With a loft and lower level game area, there is plenty of space to spread out making it perfect for families....although we spent much of our time in the family room with the large vaulted ceiling and stone fireplace. While the cabin is in a neighborhood with a couple of homes nearby, there is a definite feeling of privacy and solitude. The views of the mountains from the porches is breathtaking! Even the drive (paved) up to the property is lovely.... the stream that flows along the way, the vegetation and trees in the woods, and all the sounds of nature. The location is perfect -- far enough away for the beautiful mountain views and that sense of "being away from it all" but close enough (and an easy drive) to Asheville, Cherokee and the Smoky Mountain Nat'l Park, and a multitude of other attractions. We also love the charming town of Waynesville that is about 15 mins. away. We're already looking forward to coming back!

Vacation Retreat

We have spent time in Maggie Valley before, but never "on the mountain" . We loved it! The view was tremendous. The facility was perfect. Very clean and comfortable. After a minor problem with the key box, which Shelly corrected immediately, all went well. Wished we had stayed longer.

Great to drive in the mountains on paved roads right to the garage door! Must be at least a 10 mile view from the porch. Home is exactly as described on VRBO. Close to everything! Would definitely return in the fall for outstanding views of the mountains.
