This very spacious ocean and pool view cottage has everything you need to truly relax and
enjoy the serenity of Maui. Designed in a vintage Hawaiian theme with a modern twist, this
room offers a unique tribute to the great Hawaiian Surfer, Duke Kahanamoku. The cottage is
very romantic, private and has amazing views of the North Shore coast line. Sleep comfortably
on the California King size bed while watching the amazing Maui
sunsets from your room. The cottage has a private path to the pool deck and Jacuzzi where you
can enjoy a fire and watch the stars overhead. Your private lanai has a dreamy hammock and
seating area where you are sure to relax and rejuvenate. The cottage is equipped with a private
bath and kitchenette. The kitchenette is complete with a coffee machine, microwave,
refrigerator and all the utensils you will need. The Duke’s Cottage is great for honeymooners or
couples looking for a room with a view, a little extra space and privacy.

Up Country Heaven on Earth

I cannot say enough great things about this little gem. If you’re looking for a special place to celebrate anything - off the beaten path - but easy access to most of the best of Maui, look no further. Shannon and Josh have made this place truly magical. I cannot wait to return!

peaceful stay

We very much enjoyed our peaceful and relaxing, but all too short stay at your "remote" and beautiful location. Our room, The Duke, was nicely furnished and large. Altogether, North Shore Lookout is a delightful B&B with great grounds and views. Would like to come back.

Simply a gorgeous place!

We stayed in the Dukes Cottage. The place is spectacular, quiet, private and super welcoming. It really helps you to unplug from reality and enjoy your vacation.The place has everything you need and I would put it on par with top tier hotels ( Four seasons/ Ritz etc.) for half the price.

Lovely Place

We spent 3 nights in the Dukes Cottsge in January. The photo is accurate. I liked being off to the side of the main bldg. The only issue was very little sunlight and room temp was hard to get comfortable. They have a heater cooler but it was loud and slow to warm the room, other than that it’s a great room. The pool and jacuzzi were nice. Like our room even after waiting an hour the jacuzzi never got hot. Owners were very responsive. Recommend a stay here for beauty and quiet

Paradise!

Our stay at the North Shore Lookout was absolutely amazing! I came on vacation with my husband and we were not sure what to expect as we never stayed in a bed and breakfast before. North Shore Lookout exceeded our expectations! The pictures on the website are all accurate and it is even more beautiful in real life. The views are breathtaking. We stayed in the Duke Cottage which was a clean and very large room. But Shannon, Josh, and Erins hospitality was the icing on the cake. They tried to accommodate our every need and were always around for helpful suggestions. We wish we could have stayed longer and will be back!

Magical

As we started our drive up to Makawao I wondered if I made a mistake staying up country. We went through the cute town and ventured on up the road to our turn off. As we continued to climb, turning off the main road onto a narrow road through a jungle of large trees and exotic plants, I knew something special was waiting for us...as we drove onto the property we were amazed. We've stayed at many beach front resorts on the Islands, but this was pure heaven. The buildings, the property, the views, it all was just beautiful. Our Duke's Cottage was perfect for us, but I know any of the rooms would have been just as pleasant. We enjoyed just sitting at the pool and not racing off to a crowded beach. The surrounding area is great for biking, hiking, horseback riding or just relaxing and enjoying the views. Then to top it off, our hosts Shannan and Josh (whose vision made the NSL) were so welcoming, down to earth good people. The breakfast buffet was setup with such detail, and they were so very accommodating, I can't think of one thing I would change. Thank you for making this most magical place for us to visit, we WILL be back!
