Tranquil Cove on Norris Lake w/ Kayaks

Listing Description:
Beautiful home located in a quiet country setting on pristine Norris Lake in the back of Dodson Creek Cove!. This property has a great floor plan, outdoor living and the perfect location on Norris Lake. Conveniently located 10 minutes to Maynardville, TN and only 30 minutes to downtown Knoxville. We are neighbors with Beach Island Marina & Bubba Brews! The home comes with a shared dock with our other property there & 1 boat is allowed per house. Our pontoon rental stays in the third slip!

The Space:
-We have multiple pontoon rentals available upon request. You must have a valid boaters license or be born before 1989 to operate. Please note we deliver the boat to the property & the boat can be taken out anytime during your stay, just note per our insurance, the boats are not to be taken out after dark. All Bookings must be made a week in advance to guarantee delivery. All boats must be returned with a full tank of gas to avoid additional charges. Please note we do not rent tubes but local marinas do & the boat is to be returned to the house after the rental period is over.

Rates are as follows:

Pontoon rental - $325 per day plus taxes & $50 insurance & taxes.

-There are also kayaks included with the rental close to the dock. Please note that we do not provide life jackets. Please be sure to return to the kayak rack at the property once finished!

-The home is located at the end of Dodson Creek Cove right past Bubba Brews & Beach Island Marina on Hickory Valley Rd!

-The home is equipped with a gallery style kitchen equipped with a standard coffee maker, dishwasher, large fridge, stove, over the range microwave, & a kitchen table! The home also includes a hot tub, weber gas grill with propane on site that we provide, KUB Fiber WIFI, & Samsung Smart TV’s throughout the entire house as well as a beautiful patio area!

-There is a shared dock with our other houses there for use w/ a swim ladder! One boat is allowed per house. Our pontoon rental stays in the third slip! Your trailer can be left at the property & you can put in at Beach Island Marina (5 mins away)! The dock does not have power currently.

-Please note, this part of the lake is considered seasonal water and although you'll have normal lake levels from May to later September. The lake levels are lowered by the TVA in the Fall and raised again in the Spring & can fluctuate year to year.


Guest Access:
The entire house is available & no more than 4 cars allowed at the property & 1 boat per house.

Other Things to Note:
-Check in is at 4 & Check out is at 10 & you must be 25 to rent
-House includes All Linens, bath towels, pots, pans, utensils, baking sheets, etc.
-A STARTER supply of dish soap, dishwasher pods, paper towels, a roll of toilet paper per bathroom, & trash bags (indoor & outdoor)
-Recommended items to bring: Extra trash bags, paper products, soaps, detergents, toilet paper, beach towels for hot tubs or lake, & all personal soaps, shampoo, & conditioners.
-4 Car max limit
-No smoking or parties allowed anywhere on the property.
-We provide all firewood & propane tanks.
-There are outdoor security cameras for protection since this is a year round rental.
-Check in and out times are firm unless approved in advance.
-Nearest grocery store is Food City which is 10 minutes away.
-No pets are allowed at our properties
-WIFI is KUB Fiber internet
-There is another property beside this one if you need larger groups. The Tan House sleeps 13.
-Please note that trailers from our other houses may be in the large open field by the house that other guests can’t get their boat to.
-We also often rent these houses in the off season month to month. Please contact us if you are interested!

Everything you need

The house was the perfect size and super clean. It has actual beds for what it says it sleeps. No pull out couches becaus those are never really comfortable. Having a bathroom for each bedroom was so nice. The kitchen came equipped with everything you needed. The covered dock was great, in a great cove. Everything was easy. Than you for a great stay.

Family time on the lake

Loved ease of renting pontoon and accessibility to Norris Lake. Quality appliances, linens, dishes. Why in a rental that sleeps 8 easily is there only inside seating for 5 at bar stools? At least a card table and chairs are needed. It was 95⁰ every day so never used nice fire pit or hot tub.

The owner was very quick to respond an messaging and answered any and all questions I had. It was an easy check in. The house has games inside the closet for the whole family. Just an awesome place to stay. Would definitely recommend.

We've stayed at this property twice, and will again!

great property, plenty of parking for the boat trailer, quiet cove to float, kayak, paddle board, etc. 10-15 minute idle out to the main channel depending on your "no wake" speed. That might seem like a lot but my boat enjoyed the gentle warm up and cool down. There is a gentle slope to the dock so it's an easy walk. The dock is very nice with overhangs so even the boats on the outside are under cover. It's a plastic or resin deck, so no splinters. There were bumpers already hanging on the metal poles to keep your boat from getting dinged up. One thing I would change is adding about 10 ft to the gangway to the dock. The lake was dropping while we were there (about a foot every-other-day), and by the last day there were some rocks and mud to drag the cooler over to get to the dock. We were there there 3 years ago with the lake full, and did not notice, so it likely doesn't make a difference most of the time. (dock was adjusted while we were there, so plenty of water stayed under the boat, even with the 3 ft drop during our stay.) The House is very well kept, even the grill was clean. The owner pays a lot of attention to detail, to the extent of spare remote control batteries in the TV stand drawer. Nice fire pit with wood stacked & ready. Take some fire starters to make it easy. There is a nice grocery store in Maynardville only a10 minute drive, so you don't need to pack everything with you from home or "hit the store" on the way in. On the water, it is extremely close to beach island (a few minutes once out of the cove) and a half hour (25mph) or so to Jimmy's (Norris Landing Marina) if you're not cooking.

Home was extremely clean and beds were very comfortable which are always our top travel concerns. Gunner was super responsive to questions before and during stay. Lake itself was dead (March) but seems like this area would never be super busy- pretty far from grocery, restaurants, Norris Dam, and Cumberland Gap Natl Park so we would probably look for a different location if we returned.

Great Autumn Retreat

My family of 6 adults enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed to cook/grill our meals. The accommodation were clean and comfortable. Even though the lake was low for the winter months, the views were still spectacular.

Gunner was a great host. Prompt to respond to any questions we had, let us check in early as the unit was already clean by the time we arrived. Great boat dock, great back yard areas, great sleeping set up. 10 out of 10 would rent again.

Perfect family house

The house was exactly as described and shown in pictures. The shared dock was great to have for easy access on and off of the lake. The location of the cove was perfect and quiet, allowing us to swim off the dock and paddle board around the area. The layout of the house was well thought out for families, with each bedroom being very spacious and with a bathroom. My son wanted to make this our permanent house. :) I would definitely recommend it for your family stay!

Clean and nice

The location on the water was perfect and it's a very easy drive by car. The house was clean and new. I wish there was a privacy fence separating you from the house next door. There are outdoor security cameras everywhere, which was a little creepy. None of the bathrooms have towel racks and the kitchen needs a pantry for food storage. Overall, I liked the house and would recommend.

Beautiful Home with great access to the Lake!

This home was very nice. It fulfilled all our primary vacation needs. The dock was perfect for fishing, storing a boat, swimming as well as launching kayaks & Sea Doo's. The hot tub was a nice touch. This home needed some towel racks in the bathrooms and that is about it! The owner/manager was very responsive and easy to contact! GREAT HOME!

Hickory Valley house is a STAR

*Great place for a three generation vacation! *The location was easily accessible from our home in Kentucky. *The covered dock was very nice, plenty of space for two pontoons and a jet ski. *10 minutes from a grocery store and 5 minutes from a gas station by car. *10 minutes from Beach Island Marina. *The house had everything needed for a pleasant stay. *Easy walk to the dock. *The only thing we would have liked was a designated walkway to the dock. There is plenty of grass, which helps. *We would definitely consider staying here again. *The owner was very quick to respond to our requests and questions. Thanks for sharing your home!

This property is breath taking. The home was clean and everything as advertised. The boat dock which is a short stroll down a gentle slopped back yard was ideal for our 24' deck boat. Beautiful, clean home in a great location

House is very new, nice view, great location, not far from Beach Island Marina and activities and open lake space. Each room is nicely furnished, good size space with TV's, movies and games in each for those rainy days. Bathroom for each bedroom is wonderful. Kitchen is well equipped, all appliances new. Hot tub was a bonus. Dock is very nice, much better than the pictures. Owner is very attentive to needs, if any. We will definately return!
