Check in was easy but we got to our room and it had been allocated to someone else Another room given to us and then I had a shower and went to use the dryer and it was broken so I had to go out with wet hair as the new one took too long to arrive Get to breakfast and the staff were run off their feet and I get my plate but no cutlery available A gentleman who had been waiting for it jokingly said “I dont think they want us to eat as I’ve been waiting ten minutes for a fork” Finally get cutlery to eat Breakfast not good Bacon was undercooked and there was no butter Overall breakfast was poor Given our stay happened to be at the start of the Australian Open, I would have to say that the hotel should have been better equipped to deal with such a busy time Will not be going back in a hurry

The room and hotel location was great. The breakfast was limited with not enough food or options for the amount of guests and also there were not enough staff. We thought this might have initially been because of the xmas break but it continued throughout our 3 day stay..

The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and pillows and a modern bathroom. Everything was very clean and well maintained, with excellent housekeeping throughout our stay. The hotel is conveniently located close to Southbank amenities and Crown Casino. The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking at $35 per night felt a little expensive. The buffet breakfast was good overall; however, during our three-night stay, the only non-vegetarian option on the first day was sausages, which were tasty, but on the following two days only bacon was offered. As many guests do not eat bacon, it would be great to include a chicken or beef option to better cater to everyone. We have stayed at Holiday Inn Express properties in other states and continue to do so because their service standards are consistently maintained. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
