We had a wonderful stay. Hotel was clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and the staff went above and beyond to be attentive and helpful. Heidi was very good with recommendations and directions. The restaurant manager and staff were also awesome. Housekeeping was awesome as well -- as well attentive and accommodating our special needs. Would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful hotel in the heart of Mexico City. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Room was clean, quiet, and super stylish. Also enjoyed the rooftop restaurant onsite.
Our stay was awesome! The staff was always very welcoming and friendly. Our room was cleaned everyday fresh towels, bottled water, bed made everyday. Would definitely recommend!
The hotel was beautiful. Very clean rooms and everyone was so nice.
Close enough to walk to many of the museums or get to the metro.
It is a really busy portion of the city though so expect to be around a lot of people once you step outside.
This lovely hotel is comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. Originally a family home built in the late 1400s, early 1500s, then a hospital, then a storage building, it became a hotel in 2019. It has charming nooks for reading or quiet conversation. It's close to the Square, easily walkable. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
What a beautiful historical boutique hotel. The rooms are charming and the common areas evoke an old world quality. The rooftop bar and restaurant is truly the best in Mexico City offering delicious craft cocktails and out of this world Mexican dishes. Not to mention the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and gracious. Antonio, our server was amazing. This is a must visit!
Beautiful hotel with excellent service! The historic building is amazing and has been very sympathetically converted. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Only slight issue that other reviews mentioned is noise - the bathroom is open to the room which doesn’t offer much privacy and as an older building with original features, doors and windows let in a little noise from the common areas. Would still recommend, however!
This was my second time staying at Casa de la Luz because I loved it so much the first time. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and well attended to, and the food was delicious. I recommend it to everyone who tells me they’re going to CDMX.
We loved this hotel! Im so glad i found it for our short stay in the historic center. It was so beautiful and comfortable, food was excellent. Perfect location for exploring the old historic center of the city. Staff friendly. We really loved it.

We really enjoyed staying here. The staff was great and the included breakfast was lovely. You should definitely try their upstairs outdoor restaurant. The food was amazing.
We were fortunate to stay at Casa de la Luz for five nights. The hotel is located two blocks from the Zocalo and is within easy walking distance of some of the city’s best museums, restaurants, and shops. The hotel is small, spotless, and the rooms are extremely comfortable with large showers and nice, firm beds. Despite its small size, Casa de la Sol has two excellent restaurants. The restaurant on the first floor offers a complimentary breakfast to guests which includes lots of delicious choices from oatmeal with fruit to chilaquiles. The restaurant on the top floor, Texontle, offers gourmet food in a relaxed atmosphere. What really makes Casa de la Luz special are the people who work there. Heidi and the rest of the team were incredibly friendly and helpful whether we needed a cab, directions, or just another bottle of water. I highly recommend Casa de la Luz.
