Privacy and comfort, both a spacious deck and screened in porch both with a grand view of Big Lake Mushamush. Shaded by mature oak trees and giant pines.
Swimmable, crystal clear water where the sandy bottom gets deeper gradually. No drop off.
Giant loons call at night, esp. when moon is full, casts its light down the 8km long lake. Magical!
Only 10-15 minutes from Mahone Bay/Lunenburg heritage towns. Lots to see and do. However, you won't find a more private spot on this highly prized lake. An oasis of peace in nature as it was intended. Kedjimkuik National Park feel, but with privacy.
There is a dock to tie up your boat. There is a pedal boat, paddle boat, and a small kayak for your use. Outdoor firepit when Govt allows it to be used. Picnic table.
Comfortable beds. Suitable for a family of 4-5, ideal for a romantic week/month/summer for a couple. Discounts for longer stays.
Set behind a gate in what was once a lakefront family farm with a prized 200 acre woodlot, you are 1 km in at a family owned property with a scant few neighbours; yet you overlook a lake that is sometimes very busy with boats of all descriptions. Three drumlin islands nearby and a narrows where one comes close to the shore invite exploration with your canoe and kayaks.
The cottage has a propane fired hot water system, fridge and freezer, and Jotul fireplace. Lights run from a lithium battery that solar panels charge all day. A generator started with a remote control from the kitchen provides pumped, clean sweet water from our dug well, and is used for showering and washing the dishes.
This year we added Starlink wifi internet which runs at 5G, a rarity in the Mahone Bay area.
There are electric and also propane powered wall lights that provide a cozy ambiance. A beautiful ceiling fan evokes a Muskoka boathouse from the early 1900s with vintage Douglas fir floors, pine shiplap and leather club furniture. The early morning sunrise provides dappled light reflected from the lake onto the low slope cathedral ceiling of pine.
You will be delighted as has our family during 50 years of ownership and we are happy to share it with you.
