Lemon Hill Amish Guest House. . . an Amish themed, whole house experience.

Getaway to the country, yet close to it all! This Amish themed home was built by the Amish church for a widow. It is in the heart of Amish Country, Northern Indiana. Close to Middlebury, and Shipshewana Amish Country. Almost everything in the home was Amish made or comes from an Amish store, sale or our own Amish family. This place is unique in that you can sit in a rocker on the front porch just 28 steps to where the buggies pass, and watch Amish families live out their amazing normal daily activities. Surrounded by farmland, this is a peaceful retreat from the day to day busyness of life. You will be welcomed with a sweet homemade Amish sweet and fresh farm eggs and butter. Goshen, Middlebury, Elkhart, Notre Dame are all within close driving range. Includes a fire pit and paver brick seating area and wood.
Sit on the front porch and watch the buggies go by! Hear the roosters in the morning as and visit with the donkeys and cattle. Such a sweet, unique place with simple pleasures all around it, get back to the country! The perfect place to relax and unplug. This is for the whole House!
Just a few miles from Das Dutchman Essenhaus Restaurant and Bakery, 10 miles from the quaint shops of Shipshewana, and an easy 45-minute drive to Notre Dame (for the football fans). Take a bike ride or a peaceful walk on the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail, less than 1 mile away. Nestled in the heart of Amish country, enjoy the buggies passing by!

Super séjour chez Brenda

Nous avons passĂ© un super sĂ©jour ! La maison est trĂšs mignonne, tout est trĂšs propre. Les enfants ont adorĂ© cet endroit, et nous aussi. Notre seul regret : de ne pas ĂȘtre restĂ© plus longtemps !!

A wonderful little getaway in a tucked away corner of Amish County. Friendly host, incredibly clean and everything was clear, easy to find, and labeled. Came stocked with the essentials and a lot more than what we were expecting, which was a nice surprise (a welcome plate of yummy cookies, some things in the fridge that we were welcome to use, a propane grill and fire pit, etc.). Friendly animals that chilled in their own fenced-in area that loved head pats and neck scritches. We had a blast during our stay!

This property was all we were expecting -- and more! The home was clean and neat and provided unique decor to look at. Beds were comfortable! The kitchen and bathroom were stocked with way more than I ever expected. The cookies were a sweet touch. I am a big animal lover, so my favorite part was the donkeys and goats! We would love to stay at Lemon Hill again and highly recommend it!

Fantastic house! Easy access, clean, comfortable beds, kitchen was very user friendly - even used the BBQ grill! Neighboring farm animals were a fun bonus! Host was kind, very responsive. Would highly recommend this host and this house!

As a first-time-guest to northern Indiana, we were overwhelming pleased with our stay. Our visit was driven by Anne Wilson concert tickets (that were purchased 6 mons prior) at the Elkhart County Fair, and just exploded with adventure from there. The house was perfect
 coming from the country in north Texas, we felt right at home with the beautiful crop land behind us, including a heard of deer one cool evening. My daughter fell in love with the two friendly goats. And we thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit out back. Brenda was the perfect host and very attentive to any concerns/questions we had. The cookies that were left for us were delicious and lunch/ice cream at Mooey’s, just right down the road, was a wonderful treat. I would highly recommend walking/biking the Pumpkinvine Trail, which is an awesome, paved trail, less than half-mile down the road. Other suggested activities we experienced:-Lake Michigan at Indiana Dunes State Park, lunch at The Goblin Dunside, ice cream at Bubbles in Michigan City-Norte Dame, we just parked/walked around-Shipshewana, although we missed the Tues/Wed flea market, we had wonderful lunch & desserts at Shawna Rae’s and 15 min buggy ride around town w/Buggy Lane Tours-Amish Family Dinner w/Buggy Lane *highly recommend!-Harvest Community Church made us feel very welcome Psalm 27:13 tells us to “see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” and we definitely saw so much of His goodness in Middlebury, IN!! we will be back

Loved it!

What a peaceful place to enjoy our family girls' trip. We sat on the front porch and watched the horses and listened to the quiet sounds of the Amish country. The inside of the house was very unique and we loved reading the Amish directory!

Lovely and relaxing

Such a lovely guest house. Beautifully decorated and so well furnished. Brenda and Dave were quick to help us settle in. We were welcomed with some delicious fresh baked cookies . We look forward to visiting again and highly recommend a stay at Lemon Hill.

Peaceful Country Getaway

Home was everything we expected, tucked off the main road but still able to enjoy seeing the Amish carriages go by. Hostess left us a plate of yummy cookies and, of course, we had to go check out Mooey's Ice Cream right up the road!

Lemon Hill Peaceful and Perfect!

Brenda is an excellent host. The house was very clean and tidy. It felt like home with books and games, and a porch swing. We even got to pet the donkeys! They loved the attention. Perfect place to catch our breath, enjoy nature, and relax.

Our stay at Lemon Hill was exactly what we needed—a peaceful retreat from the busyness of life. Surrounded by blooming lilac bushes and the gentle sounds of farm animals, we felt instantly at ease. Mornings were a dream—sipping coffee on the porch wrapped in handmade quilts, watching the countryside come to life. The Pumpkinvine Trail was a highlight—perfect for walking and simply soaking in the serene views. Every detail of the stay felt thoughtfully simple and refreshingly calm. It was the perfect place to catch our breath and reset.

A group of 5 of us plus children stayed here. The place was perfection. Everyone loved it!! My mother in law kept saying how “CUTE!!” it was. It had everything and more. The town also is a really great spot to have family adventures.Brenda was extremely available and so great to interact with. She has hospitality mastered!I highly recommend this place!

Fall Getaway

This was the perfect place to relax after our daughter’s wedding week! The home was clean and inviting and had so many extras to make our stay comfortable. We especially enjoyed sitting on the front porch and interacting with the sweet donkey on property.

Cant say enough great things avout this house. Wonderful country setting. Very quite. Very clean. Great beds. Wonderful owner and great communication too. Will be staying here again when we come back to Elkhart!
