The staff was friendly. The room was very quiet. There was a lot of construction which made driving around harder, but not the hotels issue.

Unsafe dirty carpet

Carpet floor will turn your feet black. Had to remove paper from door lock as if someone was trying to prevent the door to lock. People hanging out in lobby all night.

Gave me a bad room!

There was black mold in the bathroom above the shower and the carbon monoxide and smoke detectors weren’t even installed on the wall. They were sitting on the desk. The bed was comfortable.

The property was cheapest in area close to college campus. Breakfast was less than adequate and the staff did not interact with us more than handing us our room key and taking them at checkout time.

I liked the fact that it was just minutes away from our trip destination at Macalester College. I did not appreciate the rude front desk person who was more interested in scrolling through the computer screen than helping or letting us know if she even was close to getting us checked in, finally I asked if perhaps she couldn't find our reservation...after a very long silence, still looking at her screen, she curtly replied, "I'm just trying to get you checked it!" I didn't like the dirty stained carpeting that included what appeared to be a large blood stain right in front of our door. The carpet in the room felt sticky it was so dirty, the whole room wreaked of mold. The shower had stained walls at the top and fraying wall paper. There was no place to open your luggage! Really? There wasn't a courtesy plastic bag for anything that had to be laundered or wet. We had asked for a late check out, but because of the degraded state of the rooms we left four hours early! We were will to sit in our cars and wait for our tour than stay in the hotel or eat the breakfast. It was really an all around distasteful experience.

I really liked walkablity and free parking. However, the hotel was old, run down, smelled musty, had peeling paper in the bathroom, and not very clean. The coffee was good but the rest of the breakfast was really not good. It was obvious from the other guest comments and reactions this was a universal thought.

Rather dated property with a lot of faulty aspects including shower water control, drainage in sinks, leaky windows and gas monitors. The staff was friendly enough but it took at least 3 tries to get some to take care of gas alarm continuing to go off. The location is wonderful.

Good location, value for price, no frills.

Good location and value for price. Comfy bed and pillows, clean room, adequate, basic breakfast; quoted queen bed in Business Room was actually a smaller double. Small workout room smelled of toxic cleaner; three cardio machines worked but tv did not. Free parking. Great for one or two nights.

This is NOT a 3-star hotel, as advertised. This is a poorly run Motel 6. Small room. Old furniture and carpeting. Ran out of hot water. TV didn't work even after reporting it. Toilet seat broken.
