The space
Tulua is a private, 4 bedroom villa, located within Tamani Galu compound on Galu Beach. Tamani is a shared, very green, family-oriented compound, made up of private residences. The Tamani compound is first row, with a swimming pool directly on the beach, and is a very secure. Tulua House itself is directly behind the first houses on the beach. Enjoy a the quiet privacy and pleasure of being surrounded by your private garden, and just a three minute barefoot walk from the beach and shared pool.

The villa is 2 story, with 2 extra large bedrooms upstairs, each with king size beds and a balcony overlooking the garden. Bedroom 3 is upstairs, smaller with two twin beds. There is 4th bedroom on the ground floor with two twin beds and includes a unique, outdoor bathroom. Shower under the stars! Three bedrooms are en-suite (one bedroom upstairs shares a bathroom). All bedrooms have A/C units to keep you cool! There are two extra day beds that can also be used as needed. (8 people in bedrooms, 2 extra day beds in living room that can be used to accommodate 10 people total)

Large private patio, and enchanting fish pond at the entrance. The home is furnished with art and has an old world, Swahili feel. There is a shared pool with sun beds directly at the beach, with both deep end and children's pool.

Tamani is a shared, quiet, family-friendly compound, located right after Almanara luxury resort. No loud parties allowed. The Diani airport is 10 minutes from the house, with multiple daily flights to Nairobi, and the game parks. Tsavo game parks are only a four hour drive, and can also be accessed by SGR train.

You can walk to several great restaurants on the beach (including the famous Sails and Salty Squid). We are located between 2 very good kitesurfing schools. The marine park is a short drive away, where you can take a traditional dhow boat for incredible snorkeling, and if you’re lucky, to swim with the dolphins 🐬

Please note that Tulua is a private family home, that we rent out when we are not there. It is not a full time rental. Therefore, it is not completely empty, is very homey, and guests are expected to take good care of the home and items inside. Some personal belongings are locked in an additional room that is not accessible to guests.

A private chef may be arranged separately in advance if available, for a separate fee.

If you like, we can also book your transportation, and our masseuse will come with the massage bed directly to the house. She is one of the best masseuse in Kenya!

Daily cleaning is included. Our house manager, Margaret, is sure to take very good care of you, providing any help or information on activities and local services.

*Monkey info: Please do not leave any personal items outdoors, as the monkeys are very cheeky, and will enjoy throwing their own party if left to their own devices. Close the doors when not inside, and please do not encourage their naughtiest by feeding them.

**Due to construction of a house next door, Tulua is offering a discount to our guests. We have not had noise issues recently, but still want to ensure our guest are most happy.

- Bedroom with Two Twin Beds, an enclosed, outdoor en-suite bathroom and shower.
- Living Room (with 2 Swahili sofa beds that can be used for extra sleeping if needed)
- Private Outdoor Patio (Extra dining for 4-6 people)

Upstairs First Floor:
-2 extra large Bedrooms with King beds, writing desks, balconies overlooking the garden. En-Suite bathrooms. Extra single beds can be arranged as well.
- 2 Full Bathrooms
- 3rd small bedroom with 2 Twin Beds, that shares a bathroom with one large bedroom, and has a private bathroom entrance.

Shared Compound:
- Walking path
- Swimming Pool with shallow children's area
- Tamani compound is directly on Galu Beach (great for swimming, body surfing, boogie boarding, etc.) Tulua house is behind the front beach houses, and 3 minute walk to the pool from your door.
- 5-8 min walk to several restaurants, beach activities, 2 kite schools, etc.
- Ngalawa (traditional wooden sailboat) and Glass Bottom boats available to sand-bar for snorkeling.
- Enjoy full day trip to Wasini Island, national marine park, for dolphins and incredible snorkeling/ diving. Transport will pick you up directly from the house.
