We had to cancel our stay because of a major storm knocking out power to the region for several days. The host was amazing and made sure we were refunded right away. He was very understanding and supportive in this highly unusual situation. We will try again to stay here in the future.
IT WAS "MOST DIFFICULT" TO CLIMB THE 29 STAIRS....NO RAILING FOR MOST OF IT...THE HOT TUBS CHEMICALS WERE OFF....FOAM, FOAM, FOAM...THEY SHOULD HAVE RAILINGS IN THE SHOWER-TUB FOR SAFETY...ONLY ONE TOWEL FOR THE SPA...THERE WERE TWO OF US....THE COMPLICATED HOT WATER PROBLEM WAS SOLVED BY ROBERT....THANK GOD!!! FOR THE POSITIVE SIDE....IT IS BEAUTIFULLY DESIGN AND MAINTAINED...SCREEN DOOR SHOULD BE FIXED...
We booked this place with the expectation to really hang out at the river or the nearby beaches. When we arrived, we quickly realized that we were going to enjoy the house.A few notes you should know before going are that there are stairs and lots of them, we couldn't get the firepit to work so if that is your interest reach out in advance to understand how it works, there is a comment about the smell of the water -- that has been resolved or we did not experience that and don' t let the outside fool you, the home is staged and equipped beautifully. The only other thing is we thought there could have been better (fresher) towels and more of them.Even with that we rate this house a 5 out 5. The views were stunning and the house is just cozy.
Upon checking in, we immediately wanted to book our next trip to this house. It has been beautifully updated. Lots of natural lighting, seating and a wonderful kitchen. The bedroom was beautiful and even had a reading nook with a view of the Russian river and redwoods. The hot tub exceeded our expectations. Sitting under the trees listening to nature in a hot tubâŠ. Nothing beats it. The large deck has a breathtaking view of the river. We did encounter a couple issues during our stay. The code to the detached laundry room with an additional bed did not work.We also could not get the fireplace to work. The owner offered to send someone over during our stay, but we didnât find it necessary. Only major downfall was the water. All the running water seemed to smell of rotten eggs. I couldnât even brush my teeth, shower, or wash my hands without smelling it. Hopefully that was just a fluke, because the rest of the house was magical!
